Why is the discussion relegated to QB and RB?
We've been indoctrinated by the people that run the Heisman.
@clonedude put Kelechi Osemele into the mix.

It'll be funny to see how this changes in the next couple of years. Purdy and Hall are for sure top 10 players, maybe even Rose.Wide Right put out their top 50 last year. Troy Davis was their pick as would be mine.

Rose is better than Knott and Klein IMO. He came in and started as a true freshman on a good team. Those two just played special teams IIRCThey have Knott and Klien at 15 and 12. I haven't compared stats, but I have a hard time placing Rose in front of either of those guys... at least right now. They have Bailey at 42 and imagine he will climb. Could see Eisworth making this list. Charlie Kolar is arguably our best TE ever, not sure where you place TEs.
I agree Brock is better, but it’s apples to oranges when you are handing off to Hiawatha Rutland and throwing to walk-ons from Dike and Grinnell.
We'll see if Seneca or Purdy has the better NFL career?
Not seeing Matt Blair even in their top five showed me this list was totally worthless.Wide Right put out their top 50 last year. Troy Davis was their pick as would be mine.

He was a really good college WR, but I think it says something about the WR talent when a guy that was 6’0” and appears to hold his schools 100m record at 11.53 become the clear cut #1 WR.Lane was a walk on for sure but he was a stud
By this logic Manziel and Tebow were awful college players.
we are talking about collegiate players in college. What happens when they graduate or leave is of absolutely zero consequence to how they play in college.
Maybe I look at my Iowa State fandom differently than others, but I would rather have excellent Iowa State teams than worry about how that player may or may not perform in a professional sports league where they're an employee.
Absolutely. That is a major difference/impact to the game. How we decide a national championship in college football (BCS) is not on the same scale. It's not even close.Which is silly since the sport was segregated.
If I had to bet on it I think they'll be pretty similar actuallyYou seem to think that Purdy won't have as good a NFL career as Seneca did, huh? Why?
Hopefully Purdy will have an opportunity to play a bit more. I remember watching Seattle just hoping Hassleback would go down so that we could get a glimpse of Seneca. Unfortunately for us he wasn't injured very often. If I had to bet on it I think they'll be pretty similar actually

Brock is great. Troy Davis was a phenom. There may have been more athletic players, or better arms, or better stories, but pound-for-pound, looking at the body of work, #15 is the greatest to ever don the cardinal and gold. It was true before today and now it has been affirmed.
Seneca had more interceptions than touchdown passes at Iowa State.
He only completed 55% of his passes as a senior and had 18 INTs to 15 TDs
This isn't recentism. Brock is like way better than Seneca was and it's really not even close
