Going to be a fun day to watch today. Yesterday most of the best scores were shot in the morning and those who started on the back 9 got some scoring done early. That seems to be story again this morning. 13 scores under par out there right now but only one of those started on the front 9. I'd bet a bunch of those numbers fall off quick as they make their way through the front 9.

Then the afternoon tee times, I would be surprised to see much scoring as the day goes on and it stays dry out there. Of the 10 rounds below par yesterday, 5 came from the early tee times and 5 from the afternoon but the only two better than -2 (Spaun and Lawrence) were both in the early bunch.

And, as Oakmont can do, the 5 playing this morning that went below par yesterday afternoon are a collective +16 so far this morning LOL. Neegard-Petersen is the best of that group at even for the day. Koepka +2, Im +4, Rahm +3. Course is eating some good players up.

It’s telling that much of the top of the leaderboard still have not tee’d off. While it has been rough this morning, I’d expect it’ll be worse this afternoon.

Agreed. If he can hang around and finish the day and +3 or +4 overall then he'll be within striking distance. I'll honestly be surprised if the leaders at the end of the day are better than -2.
I just switched to Scottie from the Kopeka group and Scottie isn’t a happy boy.

He just put it in the church pew bunker and showed the first big signs of frustration (that I've seen, anyway). Curious what the cut will be.
