I do believe with a win and a DC win we can lock up playoffs.

I've felt the same way. Why put teams in cities that have NFL franchises? 15 years ago they had the Omaha team and they had by far the best attendance in the league.

St Louis made sense because they had a jilted fan base that wanted a team.

Updated because the Nighthawks were 15 years ago.
This. There has to be cities that would love to have a UFL team and would support the team on game day. Houston, Dallas, DC...nah.

Des Moines would go nuts for UFL. Omaha too. OKC or Tulsa. Wichita. All of ‘em
We do not go nuts for the Wild or the Energy. What makes you think the UFL would be any different?

I-Cubs probably draw the best. Only think I think would have support week in and week out in Des Moines is the WBNA. JMHO however.

Sure, Des Moines went nuts for the Barnstormers back in the day. And perhaps the AFL made a big mistake demoting them to AF2 during their push to try to make AFL big time. But that was also 30 years ago. Not sure how well it would go these days.

Houston - UH stadium
Birmingham - UAB stadium
Memphis - Liberty Bowl
San Antonio - Alamodome
Michigan - Ford Field
St. Louis - Dome
Arlington - former MLB stadium
D.C. - soccer stadium (holds 20k)
-----

Des Moines - Drake? Valley?
Omaha - Schwab? Creighton's soccer field (7,500)?
OKC - OU? Brickyard?

I think the problem with having a team in Omaha / Des Moines is early season field conditions. We could still be dealing with spring mud and I’m not sure anyone would want their field getting tore up. All the outdoor teams are in the south. Northern teams are playing in a dome. Maybe the UNI dome, but that’s a ways from DSM.

St. Louis gets a fumble recovery with 0:16 left to survive against Birmingham, 29-28.

Butler - 3 catches for 36 yards
Harvey - 11 tackles (4 solo), 0.5 sack
Rose - 3 tackles (3 solo)

STL isn’t going to do much in the playoffs with Duggan at QB. That WR corp needs someone that doesn’t underthrow every deep pass.

Arlington absolutely **** the bed there.

Puts St. Louis and DC in the playoffs.

Two weeks left in the regular season, and all four playoff teams are set.

St. Louis (6-2)
D.C. (6-2)

USFL Conference
Michigan (6-2)

It would have to Scwab fohurdles at least to start. Creighton soccer field has room on the north, south and east sides that could make for a viable expansion. But not a ton and the politics of dealing with Omaha tax payer money + private college + the UFL team for funding.

NCAA soccer and UFL seasons don't overlap so that would alleviate 1 hurdle.

Ah this is a good call for Omaha/Schwab. Doubt they'd want to have a ton of extra work to get the field in perfect shape for the CWS last minute.

Did the arena football league fold again? I always thought the Barnstormers were a summer thing.

AFL is on about its fifth different iteration. It's now called Arena Football One, and it frankly isn't very good.

Barnstormers are in the IFL, which is generally considered a notch below. They're also really bad now (9-29 in the last 2.5 seasons), so there's no bandwagon anymore.

It sounds like their is a conflict with the stadium in DC. St Louis will host the XFL conference final on June 8 regardless of the outcome of the last 2 regular season games. They will also host the championship on June 14.

End of the season looks like this for the Battlehawks
San Antonio @ home
@ DC
DC @ home (playoffs)
winner of that game vs winner of Michigan / Birmingham payoff game
