Everyone talking about Devries leaving, but what if he stays?

Unlikely at this point with all the smoke, but not out of the realm of possibility is it?

I nominate myself to be Iowa’s head bb coach. I won’t cost $4 million buyout, I can recruit IC and CR high schools, and I can yell at the officials. Never coached but I can work on the cheap. Or there already is an ”accomplished” coach who already resides in Iowa City who is looking for a job. The Franimal!

I could see him staying and maybe getting a little bit of a pay bump.

I just don't see him being a real candidate for Indiana.

the only thing it has going to it is that it is a big 10 coaching job. thats it. once you look passed that you realize you are a bottom tier big 10 job in iowa city iowa, with little NIL and **** fan support. its not a good job for any up and coming coach who wants to build something. its a job for a washed out 60 year old coach to milk the remaining days in his career. i can't wait for them to hire Bruce Weber away from the big 10 network.
I see a lot of "Iowa is a better job than WV because it's in the B10 and they make a lot more money" and at the same time "Iowa's NIL is lacking". I'm having trouble reconciling how those two can exist at the same time, especially as rev sharing comes onboard.

Big 10 basketball sucks and national pundits can’t figure out why.

Guess who else has a lot more money in the Big 10? Michigan, OSU, MSU, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland all really good to great bball history. Then you throw in the new schools like UCLA, USC (traditional lacking but RICH and desirable), and even Oregon.

Iowa isn’t competing with those teams on money.

Way up there
Bummer to have the two most mentioned names killed with one shot. Wv opening bumps Iowa down in the pecking order. McCollum feels like a great fit at WV.
