Anyone else thinking Iowa will struggle next year? McCullum can coach but to take so many of his D2 players to the P4 level...it's one thing to do it at the Valley level for one year...then to have have tape on all those guys and do it for an entire season at the P4 level? Man, it probably won't go well. I see barley a winning season happening.
I think there’s a point here. Drake beat Mizzou in the tourney which was good for them. But I would imagine if they play that game 10 times, Mizzou wins at least 7.
Now these guys will also have to endure a full season of B1G competition. Thats an increase in talent in addition to the wear and tear on their bodies.
My prediction is they will have a decent year. They will start hot and probably have a few big upsets. However, they will fade over the course of the season. I won’t be surprised if they make the tourney, especially if they can add some bigger pieces to the team.

All those drake kids (mvc level) who were on top of that conference last year…. Is really not much better than 10 th place in the **** tiny ten conference. Top third is good, middle so-so and bottom third is trash..,, just like Sukeyes were last year. Now, given Benny is already a better coach than mad Fran … a .500 finish is probably about it.
I don't know about bad but I think their will be a struggle once Big 10 play starts. They finish no better than .500 in the Big 10. Then the fanbases will wonder if he was the right hire and it could be an issue when it's hard that he's not bringing his D2 team and has to recruit at the P4 level.

Darian was probably well aware of GMac's plans and made his decision accordingly to take the IU job instead of staying at WV and wait for Creighton to open up.
Now if GMac orchestrated the process to where he favored Huss over Darian, I don't think Darian "lost" given where he ended up.
Weird he would turn down the Lakers and now is interested in a lesser team like Denver? Not lesser in talent mind you, just not the Lakers and their history.
