NBA: *** 2025-26 NBA Thread ***

I can’t ******* believe what I just watched. I don’t have the words so I’ll leave it to Bill Walton: “Think Oscar Wilde when he said, ‘every saint has a past, every sinner has a future.’ But also think Neil Young. ‘The fork in the road, light a candle’. Instead of cursing the darkness, let’s light a candle for where we’re going. This was fantastic for the world. We are better people for having been here. It was absolutely incredible. I’m inspired. I don’t know when I’ll ever sleep again.”

Are you also tripping on a cocktails of various mind altering drugs like Bill?

I mean, he probably thought he had a layup to make it a 3 point game? Running the math in my head on the couch and it's really hard to equate what a world class athlete chasing you down is going to be truly capable of - especially in real time.
With as many timeouts called, this should have been addressed in the huddle. Someone should have made sure everyone was on the same page but honestly, they may not have bc it was such a simple play. It's junior high level stuff, make them foul you, no reason to try to shoot.

He’s won games but the talent on the team goes a long way with that. His in-game adjustments tonight were terrible
Yes it’s ONE bad game. If you show me he has more games like this one, then I would agree with you. I mean you can say for every successful coach that it’s because talent on the team goes a long way.

But's it a legendary bad game. You can't lose a game with a 29 point lead. You just can't.

What a horrible shot by Brunson there…. and they get bailed out.

Can’t stand all these fake a** celebrities…. and the announcers just pulling for the Knicks this entire series.

Spurs are just way too young right now and don’t have much besides Wemby honestly. Knicks have way more overall talent.

Even if he hits the layup, they still aren’t in a much better position. Time is your friend and you’ll still get a shot at points from the line if you dribble it out.

There were like 11 seconds left, you're up by one, why on earth do you think you need a layup to go up by three and give them the ball back? Yes, the clock is your friend at that point.

In junior high, yes, that would be the strategy. This isn't the same game. If you think you have two points, you take it.

So let's say he dribbles it out, wastes a couple more seconds and maybe hits both free throws in a building at well over 100 decibels. The Knicks still take a TO, get the ball at halfcourt and have 5 professionals that can drain it from 30 feet on the court.

It was a VERY bad game. Blowing a 20 point 4th quarter lead is terrible. For as good as the spurs looked in the first half, they looked worse in the second. That has to fall to the coach to get his guys in the right place to succeed. He may still bounce back long term but that type of loss will stick with him for a long time
