Nah - 2005 football season. We should have gone at least 11-1 that season instead of what did happen. But I get your sentiment.
That Baylor loss probably skews my view of that 2005 team too much, but I think the 2021 team underperformed worse than they did.

I went to bed around 10-ish, and just caught up on Twitter this morning.

I'm sorry...what exactly happened in the Big 12 last night?

I definitely did not think that in Week 4 there would only be four undefeated Big 12 teams remaining.

Big 12 seems very mid overall. Imo there is no reason we shouldn't be walking into Utah undefeated.

Utah doesn't impress me. Barely beat an average osu team that was trying hand them the game. We have better offense and defense than OSU.
Eh that Utah/Okie State score is a lot like Arkansas State and Michigan. Utah definitely checked out on defense and went way too conservative and allowed a couple of scores that could have got them in trouble with a late onside kick recovery.

But that game, with a backup QB, was 22-3 with less than six minutes to play. And Utah’s defense just beat the hell out of Okie State until they let their foot off the gas.

It all depends on Rising. They are definitely beatable if he’s not playing, but their defense is no joke.

A wildly entertaining day overall in the Big 12.

-Colorado down 7 heaved in a Hail Mary as the 4Q clock expired to send the game against Baylor to OT. In OT, up 7, Travis Hunter forced a Baylor fumble at the goal line that went out of the back of the end zone to seal the win for Colorado.

-BYU had their way with KSU. Scored 2 touchdowns under the 2 minute timeout before half to take the half time lead. The 2nd half KSU did just about everything wrong (poor tackling, dropped passes) and BYU scored at will. BYU wins by 29. Now this guy is in big trouble.

Just like Big 12 basketball, Big 12 Football is going to be very well balanced. I am drawing blank for the term typically used to describe it but everybody is going to beat each other up...which is not good news to get 2 teams in the playoffs unless 2 teams go undefeated and play in the Big Championship game.

I’m not seeing that after this week. While the conference will have a lot of close games, it won’t be because of parity. It’ll be because there are a lot of mediocre teams with weaknesses that can be exploited. I see Utah, UCF, and ISU running away with this league. UCF has some issues, but that offense could make up for it.

My bad. I worked a 14 and 1/2 hour shift yesterday so was just going by seeing final score.

Where are they defensively compared to ToE?
