Well, at least now it's moved to Tamin's NBA comp.
Fred VanFleet, anyone?
Oooh, that's a very good comp. They are very similar in size - Tamin might be an inch taller - and I think Tamin is better in every statistical category as a Soph than FVV was as a senior - except FT%.

I'm encouraged by Tech's defensive numbers and that they don't put opponents on the line very much (I think that's what being #2 in FTR means)

Yup. To your point, they are lighting it up in conference-only. Our eFG% defensively (8th) to their eFG& offensively (1) scares me a little bit.

We have to make sure that we're taking more shots than them through turnovers and rebounding. I feel like our defense will be kryptonite for Isaacs if we're on.

What worries me is their 3pt %. If a team can pass out of the traps even decently well, they get wide open 3s on us.... Hope that is not the case tomorrow

When doesn't a thread get hijacked? All the relevant stats were posted 2 days ago. I appreciate all the work Sig and the rest of the stat geeks do though. I'm predicting we defend Hilton tomorrow.

Thread topic discipline on Cyclone Fanatic has never been our strong suit.

Heck, this thread started off by a discursion on the 2023 offensive line.

This thread is close to the de facto megathread for the 2023-24 basketball season, so on occasion it is going to drift in other directions. And that's okay. But soon enough yours truly and others like @CoachHines3 will have new data after a game, on the conference, or on the rest of the Division I world to pull it back.
