The way these things go is whatever they announce, will get **** on by a bunch of vocal people. That's going to happen, regardless. They could pick any name, and there's a group that will declare it the worst possible name they could have chosen. Those people will have their moment and then a season from now, nobody will care anymore and they'll just be the Brigade or the Red Hogs or whatever they end up picking.

Last year there was piped in noise because there weren't fans, but it wasn't ESPN or Fox doing it. The local stadium PA controlled the crowd noise.

But regardless, they scrapped it after fans were back in attendance. I doubt there was any piped in noise, but if there was, it wouldn't have been ESPN adding it.

I'm not talking about piped in noise in the stadiums, but TV fake canned background noise. My apologies for blaming this all on the NFL. The ESPN Bowl Games have all been doing this too. The same sudden high pitch to fade away nothing after each play. So, so annoying. I attended the Cotton Bowl, and I have watched the replay twice. I am not imagining things.
