I remember seeing this story about Ruggs on gameday (or something similar) a few years ago. Makes the whole situation even more dumb.

Five years earlier, in March 2016, Rugg's lost his childhood best friend, Rod Scott, in a car accident while en route to attend a state playoff basketball game in Birmingham, Alabama.
The pair had been due to travel to the game together, but Ruggs had fallen ill with the flu and decided not to attend.
Scott, 17, was one of three unrestrained passengers ejected from a car that had rolled over along a rain-covered Interstate 65.
The teen was airlifted to an area hospital with serious internal injuries, including a swollen brain and two collapsed lungs.
Despite multiple surgeries to save his life, Scott was pronounced dead the next day.
“The original plan was we were going down there [to Birmingham] and we were going to drive ourselves because I was going to be the one to ride with him, it was going to be a couple of our teammates,” Ruggs told the Montgomery Advertiser in 2018.
"But once I got sick, it was like, I didn’t think I needed to go anywhere. And that kind of hit me, but I didn’t even know how to think about it.”
Ruggs said he was tortured about what might have been for years afterward, had he not been ill.
"Most of the time, if I was with him, he’d let me drive. I probably would’ve been the one driving, so there’s no telling [what could’ve happened],” Ruggs said.
"You know, everything happens for a reason, but you never know. If I was driving, maybe it would’ve been both of us, but you just think about what other kind of situations could’ve gone on or would’ve gone on if I had never gotten sick."

I am a Packers fan and can’t stand him, while having to root for him on my team. Wish we had a better option.
Rodgers gets more slander for not being vaccinated with a vaccine that doesn’t prevent you from getting covid than Henry Ruggs does for driving drunk at 156mph and killing an innocent woman. Interesting times.
What do you want people to say about Ruggs? He lost his job, got arrested, and got charged with 2 felonies. He's a despicable human being. Not a lot needs to be said.
This isn't hard to understand. Rodgers is one of the faces of the league and Ruggs is someone you might have heard of if you're a casual fan. Its universally accepted right now that Ruggs is a piece of crap so there isn't much to debate on that. If the roles were reversed and Ruggs was the anxi-vaxer while Rodgers killed someone in his car, Rodgers would be getting a lot more press than he is right now.
He's basically had the NFL career I would want. Play for about 20 years and never get tackled.
This is hard to believe but okay I guess. Not gonna spend my time researching it.
