NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

lol nobody that isn't a Chiefs fan watched that game and thought, "I'm good with this, I don't want to see Josh Allen respond in overtime because they didn't play good defense in the fourth quarter."

I'm a huge Chiefs fan but Allen is one of my favorite players right now....just so fun to watch and so good. In my opinion, that game last night WAS the Super Bowl. Don't think anything can top that game the rest of the way.

And my goodness, the AFC vs NFC in terms of quarterbacks is a new era. Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc all heading or have headed out to pasture soon. Now AFC is STACKED for a decade...Mahomes...Allen...Burrow...Herbert...Jackson. Oof.

Interesting note, Chiefs proposed for a rule change after they lost to the Pats in OT back in 2019. I guess it was voted on by team owners and refused.

Do you have a problem that KC got 10 possessions during regulation time and Buffalo only got 9?
No because they each had the same amount of time, 60 minutes, to do everything they could to win. Then in overtime the clock doesn't matter anymore because KC scored first.

Just cut out the theatrics, opening coin toss, first team to score a touchdown wins, fill the rest of the 3 hours with commercials.

The winner of the overtime coin toss would have chosen where to spot the ball to start overtime. The loser of the coin toss would have chosen whether to take possession at the designated spot or defer to play defense. Overtime would last 10 minutes, and the first team to score would win.

Those are some really good QBs.... I'm not sold on Jackson yet.

Being a fan of an AFC team for the last 2 decades and the next one suck. Brady or Manning or Roethlisberger were in every AFC championship between 2004 and 2019. And now it will be 12 consecutive years of either Mahomes or Allen.

Pain.

He has the ability to really take a game over...that's why I included him. And I honestly should have added Mayfield as well.
I do agree that Jackson can take a games over. He has a style that won't fit long term in the NFL with all the running he does. You can say that about Mahomes and Allen, too. Eventually they will need to learn to be pocket QBs. The defenses are too good now and they will destroy a running QB.

Running QBs tend to be injured just as frequently (if not less than!) non-mobile QBs
