***2021 Olympics thread***

We have plenty of great players on this team. Playing defense, and as a team, would help.

Who's a top 12 NBA player besides Durant? Lillard?

Some decent NBA talent there, but just throwing together standard NBA talent isn't going to cut it any more.

Whoa - we have a team full of NBA all-stars.

Meanwhile, Evan Fournier had 28 points for France. When has he made the all-star team?

Feeling like we should switch back to sending college players. The style of game is closer to international ball and they actually want to be there. This team feels like they were thinking these are just pick up games with the effort they're putting out.

This team just plays dumb. Only needed a 2 and were getting boards but decided to jack up 3s.

You can make an All-Star game and not be a consistently top-12 type player.

The question is: how many Top 12 NBA Players are on the team?

Best of the best.

Would that more likely give them a chance to out-talent teams and gel along the way?

Or if not doing it that way, was it constructed in a way where strengths were matched up?

Yes, perhaps we should have had a team that had a chance to play together and gel - but that shouldn't matter against France. Make France guard you on the dribble. Play some defense.
We have tons more talent than they do. France has no one close to Durant, Lillard, Tatum, or Holiday. Yet they ended the game on a 16-2 run.

Also, maybe there was a reason, but why tf did Khris Middleton barely play? And why tf did Zach Lavine play in crunch time? Mind boggling lineups today.

Gonna guess because Middleton is one of the worst players on that roster and coming off playing 100 games

He’s not wrong though, Popovic really sucks bad. They have enough talent to beat France.

Yeah the rotations are questionable. Watching it now...announcers saying Durant only played 15 minutes up to the mid- 4th quarter.

The coaches available have been around the league long enough to know who should be out there to close out a game.

Holiday played quite a bit and he was great. Middleton is better overall than Keldon Johnson, an overrated Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, and Zach Lavine.

Agree to disagree on all this guy's except Johnson.
