Let me add that he has won 50+ straight, so obviously he's done a good job with the talent that he was given.

No it's not. He does have little to do with their success. Their success is from the players...who get better from AAU. There isn't a coach in the country that could coach that team bad enough not to win a championship
 
Linn-Mar game was...interesting the refs were horrible and Lions need to be stronger at the hoop and take care of the ball better. The Lions continue their streak of never finishing lower than 4th...GO LIONS!!!
 
I was really impressed with Ogelsby, he can flat out shoot. It seemed like everytime he got a little day light he would score. It will be interesting to see how Ames will guard 6'10" Woodbury on Friday.

I just did a search on here for the same thing. My football coaches just told me he was there. I'm guessing he probably was if someone else saw it too.
 
If SC East could shoot this would be a ball game. McDermott's really playing well though.
 
I'm sorry, but so far Ames has not been incredibly impressive in the state tourney. This makes their conference look like cake.

Yeah it appears they haven't being playing their best. Maybe they are starting to feel the pressure of trying to be the first back to back undefeated State Champs.
 
Ames has only shot 5 FTs so far, Barnes shooting 2 compared to last game when they shot 21 with barnes shooting 12. So SC East has done a good job keeping them off the line.
 
Well the final score of this one really isnt going to indicate what type of game it is, Ames will close it out from the FT line. I really have a hard time believing that this Ames team is the best TEAM in the history of Iowa High School Basketball. Sure they may have the best win streak in the history of basketball in Iowa, but as a team...no. They have one absolute Stud in Barnes, a great player in McDermott, and a few kids who can play high school basketball. IMO, not the best TEAM.

Teams play big come tournament time. I remember last year Ames beat Johnston by like 50 at the end of the season and then only by like 10 in the tournament. Ames has played two poor games so far this tournament, and the other teams have played good games, but they still haven't even really challenged them to any degree.
