2010 Boys State Tournament

Teams play big come tournament time. I remember last year Ames beat Johnston by like 50 at the end of the season and then only by like 10 in the tournament. Ames has played two poor games so far this tournament, and the other teams have played good games, but they still haven't even really challenged them to any degree.

If this Ames team is the best ever, they ought to be able to elevate their game come tourney time. They pulled away today because of free throws. This was a 6-9 point game. I have no problem putting this Ames team in the top 5 all time in Iowa, best ever though. Not in my mind.

Ames wins 59-46. Good game for McDermott with 23 pts and 13 rebs.

Barnes ended with 11 pts and 8 rebs. 5-14 shooting.

At the very least they're in the discussion for best ever.

SEP up 2 on Linn-Mar at the half, Bohannon and Paige have 1 point combined. All 22 SEP points scored by Guenther and Ingle, crazy.

Edit: BAH!

Lions down 22-20 at half, they need to be more consistent, make shots, and get rebounds. SEP is 10-10 at the line.

I know it's shorter periods and no shot clock but I can't remember high school games being so low scoring.

SEP only shooting 25% in the half, it'd be a 10 point game if they could shoot. Getting 10 FT's and making them all helps.

Well, no sooner do I say that and the kid misses his first two of the night, sorry bout that SEP.

Lions lose a heart breaker in the battle of who will get destroyed by Ames. Linn-Mar lost it and didn't want it as much as SEP.

Paige looked awful today he couldnt make anything. Ames will murder SEP just like they always do. I really believe that Cedar Rapids Washington is the 2nd best team in the tourny

So I have been watching the 1-A game on T.V., and thank god we revoked Dykstra's scholarship. This kid struggles with kids 8-12 inches shorter than him. The other 6-9 kid, Heemstra(sp) is the best player.
