2-10?

Hopefully Tucker won't be out very long and can come back and still be a big impact maker on D. I think our defense can keep us in some games this year and yes the offense needs to improve but 2-10 at this point seem like a bit of an over reaction. We can beat Toledo, KU and can be in games against Texas Tech, K-State, Texas, and West Virginia. Calm down for now, but yes the offense needs to improve for us to have any chance at winning any of those game.
Sounds like he may miss the next five games as a guessimate. It may be worse.

You could win 5-6 games from what I saw yesterday. Depends on if you rebound from this loss. One of the better ISU teams I've seen in a while. Much improved. If it is only 2 wins, you have problems outside of players and talent.
Appreciate the kind words, Golfer, but I think you over-estimate. There is no way a team that gets dominated by Iowa wins 5-6 games in the Big 12. NO way at all. Iowa would probably be 7th-8th in the Big 12, at best.

How about we wait until after our game against a MAC opponent this weekend first
If anyone is expecting a win this Saturday they are going to be very disappointed. I watched their game against Arkansas and their defense is every bit as good as Iowa. They lost all of their offensive lineman from last season but their running back are crazy good.

Depends on whether Kansas scores or not.
2 wins looks like the limit right now.

I think we beat either KU or Texas but not both. For some reason we always seem to play Texas tough and maybe we are due for a win over them. But yes, probably 2-10 cause we can't score enough to win.

Seriously? Yes, I do think you're serious. At this point, ISU is a much improved team this year and Iowa, although not world beaters, isn't a bad loss for you. To think your season is over because of this loss is somewhat revealing.

So no chance this weekend against Toledo? Just want to get you on record. If you do think so, how about a bet? Of course, since ISU has no chance, I'd need like 100-1 odds, but that's free money for you with a 0% shot.

Where are you seeing chance, odds, or probability in that post? It is pretty clear he predicted an outcome, not odds.

Ark. Put up over 500 yds to Toledo 300 and only managed 12 pts. Toledo had 75 yds rushing in game. It's not like Toledo dominated Ark. Ark left like 21 pts on the field. There is a fine line sometimes between being 2-10 and 7-5. A couple plays go our way yesterday and we are sitting at 2-0. Losing Tucker and Floyd and mills and Luna didn't help.

I'll be shocked if we don't see some entirely new running formations vs Toledo. It's this staff last shot

If we lose to toledo, it will probably mean no bowl and we know what that might mean.

From my perspective, I'm going to move forward to the Pittsburgh game. I'll try to remember to come back here after this season is over, because my instinct is that some of you all are going to be surprised about how ISU performs this year. This is predicated on flushing yesterday, and moving on, which I think you'll do. You're clearly better this year than last. At this point anyway.

Defense is improved. Offense is the same. I don't believe that will equate to more wins from last season.

Winnable games = KU, Tech and Toledo (maybe Texas to a lesser extent but we are probably just a touch better than Rice).

Ground and pound with backs is not that concerning. Our weakness is discipline, as shown by being exposed on broken plays and checkdowns. If Tucker and Floyd are back there is little concern against Iowa, let alone Toledo.. Unfortunately when they went out Iowa exploited their unprepared backups, but hopefully a week to get ready will help. Would be nice to have Cousins and Mutcherson.

I didn't see a team get dominated yesterday. Fact of the matter is that it was a close game until 5 minutes left or so. He score didn't reflect domination. At the half the offensive yards per team were almost identical only we were heavy pass yards and they were heavy run yards. Our defense got hung out to dry in the second half by a horrible 2nd half offense and still managed to keep us in the game by creating turnovers. It's a horrible loss in that we just laid an egg in the second half offensively. But dominated isn't what happened.

ISU will outperform this season. That is my predication after game #2. A risky prediction, as they all are until the first week of October. But that I how I see it after yesterday. Going against conventional wisdom, Iowa's secondary is very, very good. The performance of your receivers and ability of the q.b. were positives for you. The receivers made some catches while blanketed.

Your o line has some fundamental issues. Presumably these can be corrected by coaching. Mostly wrong leg blocked on numerous occasions allowing Iowa to seal the corner on width schemes. Outside leg on these. That is coachable. Highly correctable.

With a competent staff, yes. With what we have, I wonder.

ISU will outperform this season. Define outperform? 3-9 would be outperforming and that is garbage. That is my predication after game #2. Count me skeptical that you can fix fundamental problems in season, especially when you don't go two deep at guard/tackle. Hope you're right. Development and improvement would be a fairly new concept for an ISU offense.

I am probably most dispirited today about the fact that we appear to have a decent/servicable defense. That defense hung in there even after Tucker went down. The surrendered yards, but got a key takeaway that couldn't be capitalized upon. The time of possession in 4th quarter was a joke. Offense needs to be hearing it all week and needs to come out with **** and vinegar if there is any chance at Toledo.

This will be a 1-11 season if this offense doesn't figure out how to rush for 125-150 yards per game and score some damn points.

Yes, I'm serious. Iowa would be 7th or 8th in the Big 12. You went 7-5 last year against a schedule where your average weekly opponent was the equivalent of Kansas.

Iowa is a below average team, we are just more below average. Battle of the powderpuffs yesterday.
