If the Cubs at least split the next two, they will win the season series and have a tiebreaker for the Division if they are able to claw back.
Might as well win 'em both.

Makes sense. But why did you delete the post?I shame the pitchers into playing well. Reverse psychology.
I still get to use it for the rest of the month lolHow do you know? I thought you canceled your Marquee subscription?
I’ve always said he’s a good player, but is he truly elite like Ohtani, Judge, Soto, Acuña, or Harper? Yes, he has a World Series ring, but that’s a team achievement. Individually, his résumé is solid but not elite—he’s never batted over .292, never hit more than 30 home runs, and has yet to win an MVP. This season isn’t disastrous; his numbers are just slightly below his career averages. The Cubs media hyped him heavily in the offseason as an elite talent, but in reality, he’s a good player—perhaps a slightly upgraded version of Cody Bellinger, not a true superstar. Do you consider players like Alex Bregman, Paul Goldschmidt (a former MVP), Christian Yelich (a former MVP), or Corey Seager elite? He’s going through it right now, and even he might not be able to figure out exactly what’s going on. You gotta stop with the “he’s overrated” thing though. Go take a look at his career numbers and keep in mind he has a WS ring. He’s an elite hitter and you wouldn’t be able to find a single scout that disagrees with that. I’m quite certain he’s still going to have a huge impact on this offense before the season is done. Even with this putrid stretch included he has an .821 OPS on the year. That’s pretty insane when you think about it.
Have to give both credit they bust their tail on the bases:

I know he is going through a rough stretch but that shouldn’t be an excuse for not playing hard. I always appreciated Matt Shaw even when he wasn’t playing well because he always gives 100%. Shawon Dustin was not my favorite player but I always appreciated his effort.speaking of baserunning. Kyle Tucker's frustrations at the plate are definitely carrying over to other aspects of his play. Pat and Ron have mentioned the other day that he wasn't running hard to first even thought the first baseman bobbled the ball. I think there was another instance this week where he wasn't running out a grounder.
Giving him a mental break probably long overdue.

Reminds me how Pacheco for the KC Chiefs runs.Shaw runs like he is angry at the ground
To piss off people like you.Makes sense. But why did you delete the post?
Horton to the IL backdated to yesterday. You're trying to conserve innings anyway so missing a start isn't a bad thing at all.Javier Assad back at Wrigley.
Someone would need to go on the IL for him to be activated. Figured they had a plan when he was optioned but interested to see what happens here.
Yep. 15 day IL so the blister can heal, then he is back for the rotation when the roster goes to 28.Horton to the IL backdated to yesterday. You're trying to conserve innings anyway so missing a start isn't a bad thing at all.
