KState pregame thread

Any common folk who can't go across the pond: what are you making for your home tailgates for the game? Looking for something with an Irish flavor to cook up Saturday AM.
Corned beef. Debating chopping it up to put on homemade potato chip nachos. Also, holy **** is it going to be perfect weather for a driveway tailgate

I did a rewatch of last year's game. Every "lucky" play went to ISU. 2 fumble recoveries. 1 blocked field goal. 1 safety. I noticed that Becht was 13-35 passing with 4-5 dropped picks by KSU. Some commentator said he wasn't sold on Becht to win this. KSU will stack the box, stuff the run, and blitz the QB. Passing game needs to be much better to win this. We won't have any good punt returns or blocks of kicks this game. IMO the key to the game is Becht seeing an open lane and using his legs. He can't roll out right, wait, and then throw the ball out of bounds to end the play. Bowman did this at OSU last year and they lost every conference game. WTBS I also rewatched the CCG against ASU and our backup QB was way off on accuracy - missing 2 open TD throws by about 10 yards each. So if Rocco gets hurt, it could be a big problem for the rest of the season.
I can't find the article but I read that Rocco completed almost 75% of his passes when facing a blitz in 2024. He also had 2 TDs and no INT against the blitz last year.

Colorado is a national brand??? They haven't been nationally relevant since the Big 8. They are a side show with Deion, and that's all.
Yeah. I laughed at that as well. Prior to Sanders arriving, CU had become easily one of the worst programs in the then P-5. Their facilities also were in need of serious upgrades. I'm assuming that's being addressed now. But to say they're a national brand is comical.

ASU's more of a national brand than CU. Mandel's a jackass.

Bringing in two proven successful transfers at the position as well as bringing an all conference player back from injury at the TE position certainly helps to soften the blow of losing two NFL players at WR.

I think the passing game will be fine.
Is there a better TE duo in the country than Burkle and Brahmer? Probably not.

I'm expecting those 2 to have monster seasons. Both are matchup nightmares for opposing teams. They'll also soften the coverage to the benefit of the WR's. I don't think we're talking enough about their potential impact.

That's more like it. Only one way to go from here. Up!

No mention of our depleted linebacker group last year.
None of the pre-season pundits are aware of that, or the safeties being banged up/injured as well. Or Brahmer being a non-factor due to injury. They just assume we had an Indiana or Illinois type season last year where we caught all the breaks, had an easy schedule, yada, yada, yada.

Winning 11 games last year with all our injuries was an unbelievable accomplishment. And that's why I'm so stoked for this season. If we can avoid the injury bug that we had last season, I think the sky's the limit.

The wife a little sunburnt huh. Edit, interesting career choice by the way. Don't know many female shepherds.
You just reminded me of one that was on Letterman, way back when I was a student. I think she was from Australia, maybe NZ.

She had a gap between her front teeth. What she used it for was the reason they flew her all the way there for the show.

I’ll let you guess what that was.

This is the optimistic case, and lord almighty i hope you are right

My favorite is when for one reason or another I miss the start or a chunk of an away game, then check that thread for an update and am convinced based on the most recent thread posts we must be down two scores. Come to find out we actually have the lead.

This is a stupid post.

If we don't post in the game thread, how will we know when to fire all the coaches, bench the starters for somebody that hasn't taken a snap, or burn the program to the ground?
