Spooky season is over for beloved Ames Haunted Forest
The family owned operation is closing after 25 years of scares.

The family said the plan is to use the space to expand the parking lot they already own near Jack Trice Stadium. Lynn said they could probably fit another 300-400 cars to park.
There was an obvious demand for more parking near Jack Trice.
$40 per spot times the 350 extra spaces, $14,000 X 7 games, is about an extra 100K per year cash money. Not bad for vacant land that has little value other than the parking lot.
When I saw the title I was thinking of this.
I did find out that the whole shrine thing is a hoax. The guy was never married and no one was run over by a bus. The guy was from Florida, was willed the land. He was just a weird strange individual. I found this out from someone that grew up just east of the shrine.When I saw the title I was thinking of this.
