Has happened all night. Cubs had Verlander's number tonight but were hitting right at guys.
That loss is all on Counsell. Absolutely zero innovation in the 10th to get that run home. You cant expect the bullpen to hold forever and he sends PCA up there flailing away not even within a foot of making contact.
With his speed they could have laid down something and created some issues and at the very least you take some pitches and he's in a 2-1 count against a guy having control issues.

Presley was awful but they had some really bad ABs in big spots in the 9th and 10th
SEVEN runs.....and still no outs. His ERA went from 2.08 to 6.23 and he didn't get an out. Closer, my ass.
9 runs allowed and 0 outs for Pressly. Wow.
I can't even post fast enough.....make that 7.62 as he's responsible for eight of the NINE RUNS scored that inning.
Bullpen had been good for too long now, we were due for a bullpen nuclear meltdown.
Nico hit moved the guy over with a deep fly ball, so really the same result. PCAs at bat was the issue
Wow. I think you can put the fork in Pressley. His $10MM contract isn't a deal killer for a team with the Cubs' deep pockets. Put him to pasture. NOW.
Is shortening your swing to put the ball in play not a thing anymore? All we needed was some contact and he's up there trying to hit a 3 run bomb.
