My understanding is that both were 1.5-2 million, but to me that's not mind blowing. If you do the math on Duke's current roster, it's not far off of Ohio State Football's number. The only eye popper so far (imo) has been Dybantsa at 7M

The NCAA's own policies prevent that. Definitely within their power to offer contracts. That's been a line that they have been unwilling to cross, thus far.
I said its selfish to assume that other people will donate but you don't have to, not that its selfish to not donate. No one is saying donate money that you don't have.
But to tell people to not donate and that their donations have no impact is absurd. Of course they do. I have no idea why someone who claims to be an ISU fan is telling people to not donate to WeWill.
Even if you hate NIL and won't or cannot afford to donate a penny (then don't complain when people steal our players or we don't land transfers), it makes no sense to openly discourage other people from donating if you want ISU to be as successful as possible. Holy cow...
This is completely unfair. I’m literally at an NIL conference with corporations trying to raise more dollars to help Iowa State. Appreciate the reasonable folks on here, stuff like the above is what causes CW and I to lose our minds.

It's funny to me you label this current situation built on donations to 501c's as capitalism at its finest. I think many of us that supported paying the players expected their pay to come out of revenue like a normal capitalist system, not charity donations.
I think Duke got extremely lucky with the class they brought in this season. They had some game changers on that team. The next years team they have has a bunch of good players on it, just not the freshman next level type players. I have watched the Boozer kids play and they are legit good players, they are not Cooper Flagg though. If Duke keeps recruiting this way I think they drop down to a normal top 10 team instead of a top 4 team.

Yeah, it may be 10 years before we see anyone like Flagg. The higher rated Boozer is completely legit though, has the perfect game to come in immediately and dominate the college game. Actually looks a lot like Junior year Joshua Jefferson with an even smoother shot
Exactly. I thougth paying the players would not be everyone chips in to purchase a player. I thought it would be the University gives the team 5 milliion and you pay the players that way. I would be down with the NIL thing if it was actually NIL. Like dudes doing Nike commercials. However, I have yet to see Tamin or any of our other players repping a product on TV. Except Audi Crooks who has her Fareway commercial running every 5 minutes.
I just want to go back before college sports ball was even a thing so it wasn't all about the money, ya know?
I wonder why? It seems like this would stabilize things and protect their interests better. Is there a threat that this might take them down the road too far where people will be after them about them being employees?
I am honestly not sure what the NCAA does anymore to be honest. They used to be the police of college teams. However, it seems like every rule that we used to have is no longer existent. SO what exactly do they do? I honestly don't know at this point. Might as well get rid of the NCAA and just allow colleges to keep the money they were giving them.
