The only person left on the list (Makeer) is reportedly making her decision in the next month or so, rather than signing in the early period. She isn't coming to ISU so it doesn't really matter.

After watching the BYU freshman Canadian gal, Delany Gibbs, look really good last night I was wondered about how she ranked. Hard to find Top 25 or anything like that for overseas recruits but I did find some on World Exposure Reports (who I generally think of as a one man show masquerading as a "site" but you go with what you can find). He/they had her at #11 for 2024.

Looked at the same list of 2025 and they had our Freya Jensen at #10, so equivalent to Gibbs as a recruit rank. Now I am hoping World Exposure Report isn't all the crap I generally think of it as.

If Jensen is at her level we have a real gem! I was impressed with Gibb's game

As was mentioned earlier, Reese Beaty had surgery over the summer to repair a torn labrum. She could have skipped her senior season entirely, but she made her season debut about a month ago.

Beaty was named conference MVP, and, after her team (York Academy) won the district tournament, district MVP. They now head to the regional tournament, which starts Friday evening.

This game is at 7 Central. $12 for a monthly subscription to stream: https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/alvin-c-york-institute-jamestown-tn/gam6ce2345e45

NOTE: Use code STREAMNOW24 to subscribe for only $6

If they win, all future games will be neutral court so they may not be streaming here. So win or lose that $12 $6 might only get you this one game. It does look like they are the streaming partner for the state tournament, though, so if they make State then those games should be included. It's the remaining regional games that might be iffy.

35-14 at half. Beaty has been deadly from mid-range -- she looks really good from 16-20 feet. She can hit threes too, but her bread and butter in this game has been driving past the defender on the arc and hitting the long jumper.

She's also been driving and dishing a lot, although her teammates haven't been converting her potential assists super well

Think Beaty could start as a freshman?

I don't see her above AJ or Wilson at point right now, although I do have to remember she's only been playing for a month or so after sitting out a long time with her shoulder surgery. I think she'd make a good combo guard -- kind of like AJ's role this season when Emily is in the game. She's very crafty but doesn't seem as quick as Wilson -- not meant to disparage her, just describing the kind of player she is.

She really just looks like a basketball player. She makes smart plays, seems to always be at the right place at the right time, gets a lot of steals and blocks despite not looking like she's playing aggressive defense (she's kind of like Emily Ryan that way), hits the boards hard, etc

Here's a clip from a nice sequence for Beaty -- assist, followed by a steal and score.

(clip runs a little long, so you also see the opposing team get a bucket.)
She has good court vision
