Updated with Speiser verbal to Kansas State. Also, Lena Girardi, who was mentioned in this thread but never made the list, verballed Oklahoma State.
At this point, it seems unlikely we'll be adding any more incoming 2025 freshmen. Since we only lose one known player after this season (Ryan) it's not a surprise this is a smaller class. I'd expect the staff to hit the portal next spring if there are any roster holes that need to be filled.
Interesting that Iowa signed another ranked post after signing one in 2024. Although you never know how posts will actually pan out and some develop slow and are late bloomers in college.
Tangentially related for those who didn't already know: ISU volleyball signed Reagan Hanfelt, daughter of former ISU WBB player Kelly (Cizek) Hanfelt.
Was just curious. Lots of women who do both choose to play vball in college.
The number of high level high school girls who do both has dropped dramatically - the volleyball club season is mostly in the winter and overlaps basketball season. Also FYI Kelly came to ISU to play volleyball and switched to bball while she was here (also high jumped for the track team)
Two more small high schools in Iowa that won't have girls basketball teams this year due to low numbers.
