'People are flat-out slobs': Jamie Pollard

Just renewed our four season tickets for next season with the seat backs. Pretty sure this will be it for us after 15 years or so. Just getting to be a pain to go to games and Pollards attitude towards beer sells is just another reason to stop going the season ticket route after this season.

Man, that is a great idea. Blum could hire some college girls to sell beer. Give them scanners and let them make tips.

Personally, I don’t need a beer that bad during the game. If it’s nice out and available, I’d probably buy 1-2 a game. My biggest problem is that they are continually asking the fans for more and more, yet leave this money on the table. To me, that is just being stubborn.

As for the slob comment, while Jamie is probably right, he could have worded it better.
I like a cold brew but annoying people within a few rows can ruin my game viewing experience. Particularly when sardined in place with no way to turn their volume button down. If drunks are a problem, have a NA section & a drinking section. I’ve been in the club sections that sell booze and drunks aren’t a problem btw.

I meant can underage kid volunteers working concessions serve people beer?
No.

The real answer is he just needs to be honest about the reasons and if he is it is a complete failure on his part. I hardly ever drink and wouldn’t drink at a game (to cheap). With that said the argument he has made just doesn’t hold up. We’ve already had to deal with obnoxious drunks. You will never completely eliminate those but my view is people will generally better moderate if they can just get some in the stadium.

As someone who was really ******* obnoxious back in the 90s and early 2000s

I can confirm we've had obnoxious drunks in JTS for decades.

I can’t believe it wasn’t my annoying *** that did you in, pretty sure we high fived after a few TDs in 2023 before my seats moved last year

Fans are already fickle that will not change regardless of whether we sell beer. I'm simply amazed at the amount of individuals that are willing to shell out $15 for a beer at a ballgame but refuse to donate $50 to the collective. They will spend $90 on 6 beers at a game and then cry out about their season tickets increasing $25. It's weird.
Agree and that is how I feel about the NIL beer.

Some fans are so deadset on Busch Light (or equivalent major company mass produced national brand beer) and will drink 6 of them at 3% abv or whatever...

I will gladly pay a little more for Ames Lager knowing it:

A) tastes way better
B) supports Cyclone athletes/local company
C) & at 4-5% - I only need to drink 4 of them to get the same effect as 6 of the big name brands

I'd honestly rather keep sneaking in my West O beers, buying season tickets, and supporting WeWill directly. I don't need to pay $15 for one beer inside JTS.

I'm not going to read through 10 pages of posts to see if anyone else agrees with my stellar input, but the people who drink too much, and make an As$ of themselves is going to happen regardless if beer is sold in the stadium or not. The same people that sneak it in now... will sneak it in regardless. People may sneak in less beer, but I guarantee the liquor will still flow like a waterfall. JP should just admit that selling the SEZ as "premium seating" isn't going to work too well if beer and wine are sold around the rest of the stadium.

Light beers are 4.1-4.3 generally. Busch Light is 4.1%, Bud Light 4.2%.

We also moved up in the section last season to get a better view of the field. Just getting to be a bigger pain the butt every year.
