'People are flat-out slobs': Jamie Pollard

To his third point about drunk slobs spilling beer on the people in front of him, last year I had a certain ISU coaches kid spill his snow cone on the back of my wife’s sweatshirt. Should we stop selling snow cones because little kids are slobs? No.

Also another game a bunch of former track athletes, probably mid-30s, smuggled in beer and shooters and were openly drinking all game. People in the seats DO want to drink.

Did the coaches kid say.....FU as*****....and then try to pick a fight with you after he spilled his snow cone?

The intoxication level at the CyHawk is already unreal. Been puked on at that thing and they just leave the puke there in the seat behind you. Always wind up going to it because I don’t want the nice people next to us to have more problems than we already have at the top of the stadium. I am more concerned about how little security there is in the stadium than we used to have than I am alcohol sales as there will be puking and throwing glass bottles at people either way. People will still bring stuff in cause it’s cheaper and security is not adequately staffed.

He's not saying all people, just poor people. People with the money to afford the premium sections where we already sell alcohol are clearly just better than the rest of us.
What's the value of the Sukup end zone if everyone can get beer and the wait for most people is shorter than premium areas? End zone seats are already not the best seats in the house.

Indoor view in weather is about it

Warm building, better/different food, they could serve better beer maybe, full bar, ability to look down at people sitting one section over because they suck.

Only the ISU fanbase can't handle their alcohol?? Interesting.

Probably shouldn't have any restaurants in CyTown that sell alcohol either, right JP??
Yes because a much smaller more controlled environment is the same.

I wouldn’t mind seeing beer in Hilton but football, I don’t think it would change much of anything.

So someone who wants to watch their favorite team in person without annoying drunks around are soft?

But the people who can’t go 3 hours without a beer aren’t soft?

Gotcha.

Definition of alcoholic right there.
I don’t drink, but nice projection.

What’s funny is you guys think Jamie, an accountant, hasn’t run the numbers. Even with a small profit, say $125k (that was mentioned earlier as UNIs profit) the lost advertising and/or ticket revenue might exceed that.

Not to mentioned don’t volunteer organizations now work the food stands? You can’t have those people serving alcohol now you have to hire people to work the beer stands.
U of I reported 3 million in beer sales at football. You think their profit on that would be that low?

People wouldn't get drunk before football and basketball games at a restaurant in CyTown before going into the game?

If you sell beer in Jack Trice... then you don't allow people to leave at halftime either... and charge enough that people can't afford to drink a ton. You'd have less drunks overall than now... AND increase revenue.

He’s not talking about me! I try to clean up all of the Jack Fire mini bottles around me.

I have no control over the bottles I hand out!

I always take my captain shooters home to refill for the next game to put in my souvenir cup that I bring back to the next game for a free refill

The leaving at half should stop IMO.
people smuggle enough in, they shouldn’t need to go get more.
