Hy-Vee's weirdest business decision yet?

I don't remember this being mentioned, but a coworker alerted me to this. HyVee has taken over Exemplar Care. Said coworker works part-time for HyVee and Exemplar Care would not see her. So wrong.

I wish they would just stick to groceries. They made all the local pharmacies close but they rarely fill anything local. They fill it in Des Moines or elsewhere and you have to wait for it to come in the next day. If you need something quick you can drive elsewhere or hope the hospital pharmacy has it.

My sons' store in KC they put the medical clinic waiting area so you have to cross it to get to pharmacy. At least they can just go to CVS

lol at this comment from the Wahlburger CEO.

I hope they go back to the original Market Grill concept where you could order actual meals and not just fast food items. I never understood the reasoning from going to Wahlburgers in the first place other than the brand naming aspect of it. Always felt the Market Grill where you can sell some of your own products that can be bought in store was the better model.

Pharma is where they make most of their money. It's pennies in groceries. Dollars in Pharma

I prefer Harris Teeter
I know who Teeter is, but who is Harris?

Teeter:

Yeah, growing restaurants... Other than the one in the Hy-Vees up here the only other Wahlburgers I knew of was one that was built on the restaurant strip in Maple Grove - a stretch of endless chain restaurants. It seemed like it hadn't been open for a year and suddenly it is *something else. Really growing the brand...

*That location is now a Grackle. Who the **** thought it a good idea to name a restaurant after a disgusting, dirty blackbird. They even have a silouette of the bird as their logo. Do they realize that these birds clean out their nests by carrying a packet of bird poop in their beaks and then drop them everywhere? They are dirty, nasty birds and I'm not ever eating in a place named after them. Who knows how nasty the kitchen is there...

Maybe this post should have been in the birding thread. ;)

So Hy-vee spent 5-10 years ******* around with Wahlburgers and is now pulling the plug and going back to the exact thing they previously did. Welp... I guess you cant miss if you don't swing. "If it aint broke..."

**** even the Market Grill. I loved in like around 2000-2010 you just ordered at the counter and wait a little and wait for it. They had open tables and booths and just go sit wherever yourself. Get your paper, watch the news, and eat some basic ass breakfast like eggs, bacon, and some hashbrown, and drop the trash yourself. Done. No waitress and stop trying it a restaurant.

I'm guessing Hy-Vee lost a boatload of money with all they invested in the track, sponsorship (track, multiple races, and RLL), bringing in huge artists, etc.

As an IndyCar fan, I'm very grateful for what they've done for the series overall and for bringing racing back to Iowa Speedway. The last two years have been incredible (albeit super expensive) events. Unfortunately I don't know how much longer we'll have racing at Iowa if Hy-Vee isn't bankrolling it.

On the plus side, I'm looking forward to being able to take my family to the races this year without the concert costs built in.

It looks to me like this new CEO is making some smart decisions. Randy Edeker was a complete failure, and it's showing.

Damn, that was like the only cool thing they did.

I imagine one day they'll be sold off to Kroger or some out of state conglomerate and another Iowa company/brand will die just like Kum&Go.

Yeah, I can pretty much guarantee that attendance will drop significantly without the concerts
