***2024-25 NHL Thread***

A lot of Americans care about hockey.

And if you think Canada is a bad place to live, you’ve clearly never been there.
I just experienced a week of their normal weather. Let them have hockey. I’m sure Canada is wonderful and I was okay seeing them win. It’s okay to be 2nd sometimes.

Fine - I read my scoring table wrong. Still had the lead and gave it up and then lost. Classic Mama Cass behavior. Only thing needed is the ham sandwich.

So any time you give up a lead at any point of the game you choke?

No kidding - ever been to Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan? It's basically the same thing, just south of the border (or, in my case, in the Detroit metro, north of the border - but that's an oddity of geography).

Manitoba and Saskatchewan are extensions of the Midwest. BC is the PNW. The Maritimes are New England.

Yeah, Quebecois suck, but they’re basically Canadian Texas

I admire Matthew Tkachuk wanting to play tonight, but he hurt the team by trying to go when he was injured and didn't play the majority of the game.
I think if he is healthy his physical play around the net wins it. Canada was not a physical team

They have to live in Canada and care about one sport. Americans don’t care about this sport. Let them have this one.
Hockey is growing in the US and with the downfall of NBA, I would guess this trend continues.

Here in Columbus, OH they need to build another 11 rinks to meet the demand of youth hockey(currently have 20 full size rinks). Outside of Iowa the sport is pretty popular.

This will be a roughly 2 week break for the “all star game”. How can you even compare? This was to drum up interest, and they are killing it. I love hockey and am all for it. Hockey in the US still far less popular. Even in what people say is a down NBA they still dwarf NHL.
This tournament was top notch, which shouldn't be a surprise. And I ALWAYS tune in for USA v. Canada hockey games. Canada always seems to get the W, but they're almost always great games.
