I’m not going to say it won’t be annoying when hawkeye fans take over the bars because they don’t have actual tailgate spots. It will be. But that’s one day every other year and by the looks of things we won’t be playing them every year going forward if the Big 10 and SEC have their way.

That’s a good point. Need a big sign that says the bar reserves the right to not serve those not wearing cardinal and gold. In fact, can they get a bouncer on game days?

Pollard should hire a local country artist to do a remake of Montgomery Gentry's "My Town" and change the lyrics to make it unique to CyTown

AI version. No clue is this is true to the tune.

Can you change the lyrics of montgomery gentry song "my town" to CyTown. Make the lyrics specific to Iowa state university and their CyTown development

(Verse 1)
Friday night in Ames, the Cyclones are playin'
Jack Trice is rockin', the crowd's all sayin'
"Go State, Go State," the chant rings out
From the tailgates to the stands, there ain't no doubt

(Chorus)
This is CyTown, yeah, this is CyTown
Where the cardinal and gold always shine so proud
From the Hilton to the stadium, the energy's high
This is CyTown, where Cyclone pride will never die

(Verse 2)
The McFarland Clinic, a beacon of care
The Cardinal Hotel, a welcome affair
Shops and restaurants, a place to unwind
CyTown's got it all, a treasure to find

(Chorus)
This is CyTown, yeah, this is CyTown
Where the cardinal and gold always shine so proud
From the Hilton to the stadium, the energy's high
This is CyTown, where Cyclone pride will never die

(Bridge)
From the '50s dream to the vision we see
CyTown's a testament to what can be
A place for the community, a hub for the fans
A legacy of Hilton, a part of the plans

(Chorus)
This is CyTown, yeah, this is CyTown
Where the cardinal and gold always shine so proud
From the Hilton to the stadium, the energy's high
This is CyTown, where Cyclone pride will never die

(Outro)
So come on down to CyTown, and feel the vibe
Cheer on the Cyclones, and let your spirit jive
This is CyTown, where memories are made
A place in our hearts, that will never fade

That's fine, let them spend their money, it only helps us. Better than them taking over a section of the tailgate lots drinking their own beer.

Maybe compared to what has been available with the torn up lots over the past seasons? But it looks like all of section B will be buildings going forward. Not sure how much of section A will be left. If they say no parking will be lost, it’s gotta be a numbers game where paved spots are replaced across the street with grass spots.
Which parking lots do you think are going to have to be replaced? Below are images of the Hilton/Jack Trice parking layout right now and an above image pulled from Pollard's video. The only possible loss I'm seeing is along the west edge of the C lots. However, the McFarland site doesn't have any parking right now (what would be B5), but will when finished, so that should make up for any loss in the C lots.

They don’t drink that swarm crap. No one likes it.
Oh I know. There's a reason their collective director is begging for money and having to take money out of his own pocket.

I'm talking about spending money in our brew pubs where the revenues go into our athletic department opposed to them bringing their own food and beverage from home for a tailgate.

Any ideas on the ‘future development’ areas on either sides of the amphitheater?

It's been addressed ad nauseam - they actually ADDED spots with all the reconfiguration, largely facilitated by the relocation of the RV lot
I must have missed it, where did they move the public RV tailgate lot that I parked in for 20 years?
