Looks like we narrowed the gap on Auburn and widened it on Duke but no first place votes for us. One for duke

It’s starts with the coaches who have retired in the last 5 years

Coach k
Roy williams
Boeheim
Tony Bennett
ND head coach

I am sure I am missing one or two.
Fair but Duke is still elite, UNC won a Championship after Williams retired although they struggled the last few seasons and were even mediocre that season, Boeheim lost his touch a while ago and Bennett just retired.
I think Louisville and Syracuse falling off have been the biggest factors. Notre Dame too. Virginia looks like a program ripe for a fall now that Bennett is gone as well.
Going back even further, losing Maryland was a bit of a blow.

Forgot to mention Florida State. They've fallen off the map after becoming a power under Hamilton.

UNC hasn’t won a NC since 2017 and that was with Roy and they were a #1 seed last year and won the Acc.

They won the ACC last year and got a 1 seed. They haven’t been that bad.
That's what I mean, they haven't fallen off that much since the Roy Williams retirement.
Syracuse, Louisville and Florida State falling off have been the major factors, Notre Dame to a lesser extent

Florida with a first place vote? That's just weird. I get that they walloped Tennessee, but they have no business getting a single first place vote.
They beat Tennessee by 30 and only have one close loss on the road to Kentucky, they certainly deserve consideration.

After all the nonsense with the college football rankings, I thought it was possible.
we had too many more points that Duke to make that big of a swing. many voters would of had to put duke ahead of us.
