Heads in the sky
I do expect them to play better, but this team is a combination of old, soft and just not particularly good.

- LeBron is 85
- Anthony Davis is fragile, and yet one of the more physical guys we have
- Curry is old and dinged up
- Embiid is a gigantic puss
- Durant isn’t playing because of an injury (he’s probably the key to this team winning) and…old
- Tatum isn’t old, but he’s a flake
- Jrue Holiday is a decent defensive player, but nothing special and, well, he’s old
- Booker is nothing special/ bordering on terrible
- Adebayo is nothing special
- Derrick White? Give me a break
- Haliburton has apparently been benched
- Anthony Edwards is a stud, but I just don’t know if he’s ready for this kind of basketball yet. It should be good experience for him

Just not a good roster. Add to it Kerr sucks, and here we are.

They should medal, but even that isn’t a guarantee. If they win gold, I will be absolutely shocked.

Woof those are some flaming hot takes about players.

Might be unpopular, but banning Russia cheapens the whole thing for me.

I welcome judgement.
Rivalries make sports great, but there are plenty of good rivals for Team USA without Russia. Australia in the pool is a great one, as is Jamaica on the track. And beating China at just about anything is fun.

I’d contend I was nicest to those 3, and those 3 play supporting roles on this team.

EDIT: The best player on the team which won “a ring” is not on the Olympic team.

Hey…if they win the thing, I’ll be the first on here saying I was wrong.
Fair I suppose

The horse was like 20 minutes?! That sounds terrible.

They kept cutting back to it over and over. And then the weirdest jump cut happened as it went under the last bridge, the camera immediately went to the shot of the next rider on top of the real horse heading to the Olympic stage. I’m not surprised they didn’t show that part in the prime time footage either.

I appreciate their ambition, but the whole thing is falling a little flat. This has to be a nightmare to shoot and it's just not great on tv. The cloudy rainy weather is not helping.
My niece had been in Paris the last 3 months and said it hadn't rained at all until the opening ceremony
