Iowa State Vs. Nebraska Game Thread

I forgot the game was on tonight. Glad I missed most of this one, dg has missed 3 FTs since I tuned in.

As usual CB has half the point and RBs.

Does anyone ever think that maybe McDermott is a good coach and is able to keep us in games that we have no business being in for a half before we end up showing how little horsepower we have?

it's hard to win when in ur first year when your point guard is mike "turnover" taylor. and diante is just following up with what taylor did, im gonna start calling him diante give it away garrett.

was greg committing turnover after turnover?

He really needs to call timeout at different points.

I love McD as a person, but he is responsible for having our players ready to play, and also for bringing in Big12 talent. On this year's team, only CB really belongs on the floor. Everybody else should be bench players or redshirting. Please explain where I am wrong.

What are you talking about? Its obvious the players play great in the first half and the coach sucks in the second half. The first half has nothing to do with McDermott in the first half.

Yes, yes you are melting down. Don't hide it. And NO, McDermott does NOT need to go.

I'm as frustrated as everyone else right now, but firing McDermott at this point is stupid.

He obviously hasn't put himself in a position to win. Craig AT BEST has one year at ISU left. Gilstrap is a one and done player even though I am excited for him. Say Brackins bolts after this year, then the scoring responsibility falls on a Juco transfers shoulders who has one year to learn "McDermott's system" or whatever the hell everybody keeps talking about. If Brackins stays, ISU has to go to the post season for McDermott to have a year 5. Even if he gets that year 5, Brackins and Gilstrap are gone... See what I'm sayin

I think you can include Diante in the group that belongs on the floor. I know he's not very respected on here and CR, but he's the 2nd best player in the program IMO. Otherwise, I totally agree with your assessment.

Then you can say it's on him that our program has fallen that far in 3 years, or that it hasn't improved from what he started with.

I don't think you can fire him. I've just never understood why so many people thought it was a foregone conclusion he'd be successful here.

I believe good coaches make half-time adjustments that help an average team come out playing better in the 2nd half (note Iowa vs ISU this year)......I've been very disappointed with our 2nd half performances most of the games this year.

Who's fault is it if it isn't GMac's. He is the one that recruits, coaches, and guides this team. He can't play for them.... But i'm getting sick of the "Mac didn't play out there. He didn't turn the ball over" comments.

He is the man in charge of this train wreck and has to be held accountable.

People, it is rather obvious that we don't have the horses. That is why we don't finish games strong. We have help coming. Melt down because we played like dog crap for the most part, but firing McDermott isn't the direction the discussion should be going at this point.

If Brackins stays and Gilstrap shows up and is good and we still suck, then we know what the problem is. Right now the problem is, we don't have a roster full of Big 12 starters right now. Some of our players will mature into good players for us, but not at this point.

Help is coming.

i dont think we should fire mcdermott, bcuz just like football nobody really wants to come here, with craig possibly leaving this is not the year for Gmac to leave.
