They must have added us and Iowa's records together
Or the 3. Hah! Either way, the last time we played as a 2 seed or a 3 seed we got upset.Be ready to hear it again if we get the 2 seed
I think the absolute coolest stat about this team is that so far this season no cyclone player has been selected as Big 12 player if the week. That sums it all up right there folks.
We're not a team made up of 1 or 2 superstars and some role players. Our entire roster is role players, several of whom could go off for 20+ on any given night. Everyone plays for everyone else with total selflessness.
You want to see what a team's chemistry really is? Watch the bench during the game. I've never seen so much celebration for teammates. Conrad Hawley hardly ever gets into the game, but what he has done for the morale of this team is immeasurable.
Iowa State is the epitome of a team that's greater than the sum of its parts, and that is incredibly refreshing in this era of semi pro college basketball.
Are you sure you're not forgetting Brad Brownell!Big 12 coaches preseason poll picked us to finish 7th in the conference. It's now March and we're ranked 6th in the nation.
TJ = national coach of the year

Might as well go to the Final Four this go around and break through!
It's a slippery slope. If Baylor 3 seed beats Kansas 6 seed the semis will be a true Hilton South. Then we'd have to at minimum beat Baylor to get the seed over them. Now I'm guessing the geeks will say that may not even be enough.Saw projections giving Baylor the 2 seed over us!
That was what I noticed first when TJ took over. The entire team is having fun. It’s been like that all three years but this team even more so. The last few teams of Prohm’s had little to no chemistry and didn’t look to be having fun, even when winning.I think the absolute coolest stat about this team is that so far this season no cyclone player has been selected as Big 12 player if the week. That will forever be the frosted tips game for me.Just a reminder, We were a 3-seed when Niang and Co. lost to UAB in the first round in 2015.
Baylor might fall to a 4 if they don't get it together this second halfSaw projections giving Baylor the 2 seed over us!
Not to sidetrack the thread but I think TJ and Fen should both be B12 coaches of the year.
If we get a two seed this year- that’s all the announcers will talk about every single game we play In the tournament.I remember it so well because of the unending coverage we received year after year after year....I was scarred.
A 1 seed provides an easier path to the Final Four. ISU wouldn't have to play Purdue or UConn until reaching the Final Four. Playing Purdue in Detroit in an Elite 8 matchup would be much more difficult than playing them in Phoenix in a Final Four matchup.Honestly, if winning the conference championship is the difference between a 1 and 2 seed, I'd just as soon lose earlier and take the 2 seed. Winning the conference tourney is likely a rubber match against Houston, and while it would be awesome to take 2 of 3 from them, that game would be brutal physically. I'd rather the team rest up a bit before the real tourney takes place.
2 seed and Omaha sounds gr8 to me, or even the best 3 seed and Omaha, I'll take it. Don't need the 1.
Ah yes, when boomers thought a hairstyle could cause a team to lose. They must be beside themselves with Gilbert's hair. That will forever be the frosted tips game for me.
‘They’ actually had a very good team.I remember it so well because of the unending coverage we received year after year after year....I was scarred.
