I thought about going after it when it first started, but I didn't want to get trapped on 90, and it's dark so that's not good either. I'm working in Janesville so if it had started earlier I may have went after it.Going to cross the interstate, that seems like a problem.
My wife mentioned that they brined the roads yesterday, but MAN this morning it felt like the crews were woefully underprepared for this. Very slow going out there, and at least in Waukee, a lot more than 1"1 " of snow expected and brining the road like 2" of ice? And they wonder why the roads turn to crap so soon.
No talk on tonight's snow yet? Wunderground saying just over an inch. DOT was salting the **** out of intersections today, must have a ton of liquid left to use for the year.

I'm on the western side of the metro, we're closer to 3 inches of snow than 2 inches of snow. Slick underneath and my kids said the high school parking lot is a debacle.
Always better to be pleasantly surprised by the measurement than the alternative.I think I had close to 4 inches in West DM. Way more than I thought it was going to be!
Looks like could be a busy Spring in Iowa with tornadoes. Go to 7:05 mark:
