I'm planning to be in Iowa next week and might hit up a couple of local spots with the fly rod to see if the pike are moving at all with warmer temps and lots of sun.

What kind of weather gathering machine do you have? I am looking at a Davis? What info does it gather?
I actually have installed two of these:

One is at our home and one is at an important rural location with internet available. I have used Davis and Accu-Rite units and this seems to be a fantastic blend of durability and accuracy at a decent price point.

"Monitor indoor and outdoor conditions, including wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV, solar radiation, barometric pressure, indoor/outdoor temperature (F and C), indoor/outdoor humidity, dew point, heat index, wind chill, and more..."

My neighbor has a Davis and likes it. He said he has seen over 10” of rain per hour on it a couple times. Only lasted a very short time, thank goodness.

We did have isolated spots that got 11 inches in one hour in central Iowa not that long ago. Ankeny in particular got nailed and Larry Cotlar was killed in that storm.

The Terraplex weather center is in her bedroom!?
Dropping a comment like that in an innuendo filled thread like this. Oh boy.

The forecasted high for Sunday is 80. That can't be a good sign. The last year it was similar to these Temps this early was 2012 and that was the extreme drought and 100 degree days all July.

We're in deep trouble if we don't start getting some moisture this spring.
yeah all the "yay warmth and this is how winter will be" - I think I'm north of you but we're in a similar boat. Very little snow, warmth, and we went into winter short on moisture. Also seeing high 70s in the forecast. Worried it will be like 2012 but with added air quality issues because Canada is also short on moisture.

Not exactly sure.

Good news is that the snow you did get should have soaked in instead of running off like most years. Ground sucked up most of the melted snow around here.
