Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

Had a random craving for the toffee treat Heath bar candy tonight. However, didn't feel like paying $7 for only sized bag of them at the grocery. And not a very big bag either.

River Hops Brewery had their 5th anniversary party today. Good bands, a surprisingly good pork loin sandwich off the food truck, their cherry lager was a Summer crushable, throw in some amazing weather and it made for a great afternoon/evening.

Wednesday blue super moon per my brother
In other moon news tonight the 1 year old discovered the moon but insists on just calling it "ball".

I hate home projects, nothing ever goes right or easy. We have hardwood floors on most of the house, including a main half bath. Before we bought the house there were water issues around the toilet but they did not seem to be worsening. We buy the house, had a couple of toilet overflows, I replace the toilet everything is fine and dandy for a year+. This year we started noticing the floor warping more which was causing the toilet to be unseated causing more leaking. Fine I pull the toilet off and start evaluating. Realizing then that the entire floor in the bathroom needs to come up. Then realize the subfloor needs to be replaced as well. BUT it gets better. The hardwood goes under the vanity sink which would be a gigantic pain to pull out so I am attempting to get a flush cut against it which is mostly done except for the corners. Then I still have to get the subfloor up.

Just thought of one excitement growing up. When I went grocery shopping with mom and I got to get the variety pack of cereal. If my sister was with, she should end up getting the one with special K and that sucked. It didn't happen often as my mom saw it as a waste of money for those small boxes, and she was right.

Cats are weird. Or maybe it's just OUR cats that are weird.
The hedge guys rang the doorbell shortly after 8am and woke me up. I went out to talk to them, still 90% asleep, then came back in. Went to the living room for a moment and started hearing a frantic mewing. Looked around to see who was in trouble, happened to glance over to the front door & saw Milo standing up against the side window of the door, pawing it and crying. So I went over to open the door, and he kept pawing the window & crying. Stuck my head outside to encourage him to come in, and yup...you guessed it. He STILL kept trying to go in through the window. I had to pick him up and set him inside the door.

Then I started to go back upstairs and this was my view. Tab. Staring at absolutely nothing. Didn't even budge when I walked around him. And yes, he's a WIDE load.

That seems like a lot of work.

Never thought that Hungarian Wax Peppers were that hot. Took a bite out of one and nothing. 10 minutes later after I had blew my nose (damn allergies) and went to take a leak, these regions have a slight burn going on.

Did you get to eat the cereal right out of the little box? Perforated down the middle...that was always so cool

I loved that! Of course, it was a rare treat, so I needed to be sure I had a good kind of cereal. Wanted to buy them for the grandkids when they were here a few weeks ago. Could only find multipacks in little packages you open and pour in a bowl. Those ended up being OK though, because all three kids wanted the same kind of cereal - of which there were two packets. Mom took them into the kitchen away from prying eyes and poured the two into three bowls. That wouldn't have been possible with two boxes.

Apparently, The doctor told me I was fine unless something came back in the bloodwork that told them otherwise and I haven't heard anything.
They also just called and bumped my surgery up to 9:45 from 11:15 so now I have to be there by 7:45
Not liking for the new timing, but hoping earlier in means earlier out.
