Horror movie tournament

I am setting up a horror movie tournament and wanted to get some input.

-First off, give me some movies you would like to see in the tournament.
-Second, I would like to know if the following movies should be included in the tournament because they are kind of horror movies, but not exactly horror movies; The Lost Boys, Gremlins, Shaun of the Dead, Maximum Overdrive, and Tremors?
-Should I include very old movies like Nosferatu, The Bride of Frankenstein, White Zombie, Dracula, or should I leave them out since they are almost 100 years old and probably not many people here have seen them?
-What regions should host the tournament? Fictitious places should be ok... Haddonfield (Midwest), Santa Clara (West), Derry (East), Round Rock (South)?? And then Camp Crystal Lake be the site of the Final Four?

I want to make this fun for everyone and not just horror fanatics. The problem is that 99% of horror movies from the year 2000 to the present are garbage. But I have a very solid list so far. Actually, I have a complete bracket already, but want to hear some thoughts and do some tweaking.

I don't know if Shaun of the dead or zombieland 1 or 2 count but that's the extent of "horror" movies for me.

Santa Clara is good for west region. Woodsboro would also be good.

Tough to do w so many sequels/ franchises and similar genre films. Imho for the zombie genre the best are original Night of the Living Dead for how groundbreaking it was and the Dawn of the Dead remake.

Also a lot of incredible foreign horror movies. Some of the Japanese stuff like The Audition and Suicide Club is beyond disturbing.

Recently I think “X” is actually underrated and people don’t realize how deep it is.

I do have Night of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead included, as well as Return of the Living Dead... Have you seen Tokyo Gore Police? I would love to have movies like that and Cannibal Holocaust on here, but I don't think many people have seen them.
 
100% need the Insidious movies in here, and probably the Annabelle ones too.
 
It's really a tough call on some of those horror comedies. There is more than enough content to exclude those. JMHO
