I'm mentally prepared for the 4-5 seed line in March, which I certainly would have signed up for in November.
If we are on the 5 line headed into KC, I either want to win it all in KC and likely bump to a 3 or lose first game and likely be a 6. I just hate 4/5 seeds.

To answer the question asked in the thread title:
Yes.

Look at the actual fricken bubble. There are going to be truly terrible teams with truly terrible resumes making the tourney.

Calm down.

The tournament is played on neutral floors so I don’t really care.
Missing what this actual conversation was about. Someone said we’d be 22-7 in a different conference and I said I wasn’t so sure about that because we’d still have to win road games and that isn’t something I would feel optimistic about. I feel slightly more optimistic on a neutral court.

JFC. They won zero Conference games just two years ago. And you are ******** because you think the turnaround should be even better. Iowa State is a collection of players whose talents TJ has molded into a successful team. His great success at making a silk purse out of a pig’s ear has you being unsatisfied. Appreciate that we are having success with the modest talent we now have. Future talent coming in under TJ should do even better. We will see. But never forget how bad things were previously. Never Forget.
I think the turnaround should be even better? Did I not say they’ve greatly exceeded my expectations and that I’m overall happy? You’re an odd one, Stormin. You claimed earlier I wanted Steve back which I never said.

If anyone wants Prohm back it’s Stormin. He wanted Prohm back after the winless Big 12 campaign. One of the last ones who supported him.

Three of the four losses you list were on the road. And the B1G teams you list are in the top half of their conference. We wouldn't win the Big1G but we would be in the top three or four teams. Everyone in the Big 12 has trouble winning on the road.

Texas Tech and WVU would beat up a lot of those Big 10 teams. Just sayin. Purdue might finish 4th in the Big 12.

Lol that’s interesting. Why is he trying to turn the table on me? I couldn’t be happier to have TJ right now. I’m a guy who loves following recruiting and TJ is killing it.:prohm:

I’m just here for the Stormin meltdown. Carry on. He can’t get through one post without mentioning his favorite coach ever Steve Prohm. Obsessed.
I'll come back to see the meltdown after we are 19-12 heading into March madness and the committee still gives us a 4 seed. It's going to be epic. And yes it would be 50/50 odds on either a 4 or 5 seed with that record

Tell me that you don’t really understand college basketball without telling me that you don’t really understand college basketball…

Then why the ********? Accept that this team of overachievers is going to have occasional setbacks. They have no margin for error. No Caleb Grill. They lost at a Top 10 team on their Court. So be it.

We have played the #4 SOS in college basketball.

Not everyone's non-con SOS is built the same but I would have us at roughly 3 more wins in the Big Ten and 5 more wins in the ACC. Clemson is 19-8 (11-5) right now and well out of the tournament. They are not first 4 out or even next 4 out by anybody. They've played 7 games against teams outside of the top 150 and have actually lost two of them - Boston College (188) and Louisville (265).

It's all kind of moot except for the Boomer's who care about a magical "20 win" threshold and overall record. The selection committee isn't stupid.
