Dudley Blackwell is the 6th leading scorer for a 2-20 Division 2 school.

Man, the 2019/2020 classes might have been the worst in program history. A former manager from the basketball team said a couple of those guys were struggling so much in practice that Prohm basically told them that the writing was on the wall and they transferred the day before the first game.
Wasn't that Leech and Anderson?

247 re-ranked the best transfers based of production. Blake Hinson made the list.
Too bad it didn't work out last year, could have used his scoring. Obviously Blake didn't fit the foundation TJ and staff was building and he needed a different system. Glad Hinson is performing to showcase his talent.

Lot of familiar B12 names on the list too.

Not a bad reranking. However, At least one of our guys should have made the list.

I'd say anyone who regarded him highly missed badly.

It was probably the most competitive basketball recruitment ever between Iowa and Iowa State. Fran spent more time recruiting XF than any other player in his entire career. It also may have gotten as much media attention as any basketball recruitment in the state since Harrison Barnes.

Blake Hinson and Keyontae Johnson are two wild transfer success stories. Seemed more likely both were done with college basketball than ever playing again and now they're All-Conference players for good teams.

Hard to blame them. A guy with that size and skillset in high school is usually a can't miss prospect (assuming normal progression, which apparently isn't happening).
On one hand, I agree. On the other hand, if the level of expertise of recruiting experts and scouts ends at "he's 7ft, athletic and can shoot, therefore we're going to rank him really high", do we really need recruiting experts of 247, Rivals, etc...? Any average Joe is capable of that level of analysis.

A lot of people on this board didn't understand the hype for Foster. Look at the conference he was in to start with. He played almost a guard position and never tried posting up in high school at all. Work ethic was an issue. AAU teams were not dominant. A lot of red flags to begin with.

His size and measurables were great though.

A healthy Xavier foster who would work hard would have been a great player. Just does not seem willing to put in the work and can't seem to stay healthy

I agree.... Unfortunately, he was never pushed that hard from what I'm told. He relied on his natural ability for the most part.

And remember the state title the Foster did win had another DI player on the roster. Norwalk and Bowen Born took care of him after Cole Henry was gone.

Damn he looks good at that level. I have to think he could have competed at a P6 level. Seems to be more mental than anything with him. He is clearly more comfortable playing in the Horizon League

I don't think we utilized his skill set very well. We were trying to stick a square peg in a round hole instead of cutting the hole to fit the peg.

Thought I'd update this finally as we are a week into February now. I added team and conference records for these guys, too, to kind of get an idea whether or not we'll be watching any of these guy again come March.

Tre Jackson, Western Carolina 13-12 (6-6 in SoCon; 4th place): 14 ppg 42.1% 3 pt 3.8 rpg
Tyrese Hunter: 10.1 ppg (9.0 in Big 12 play) 30.8% 3 pt 3.3 rpg 2.8 apg 0.8 spg (2.0 for us last year)
Tristan Enaruna, Cleveland State 14-11 (9-5 in Horizon; 4th): 14.7 ppg 6.4 rpg 1.1 bpg
Darlinstone Dubar, Hofstra 17-8 (10-2 in Colonial;1st): 10.1 ppg 5.0 rpg 36.4% 3pt
Tyler Harris, South Florida 10-13 (3-7 in American; 8th): 17.0 ppg (!) 3.2 apg 39.8% 3 pt
Blake Hinson, Pittsburgh 17-7 (9-5 in ACC; 3rd): 15.8 ppg 6.5 rpg 37.3% 3pt
Javan Johnson, DePaul 9-15 (3-10 in Big East; 10th): 14.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg 39.8% 3pt
Rasir Bolton, Gonzaga 19-5 (10-2 in WCC; 2nd): 10.3 ppg 40.5% 3pt
Nate Jenkins, Green Bay 3-22 (2-12 in Horizon; 10th): 2.2 ppg 2.5 rpg
Terrence Lewis, Grambling 15-8 (8-3 in SWAC; 2nd): DNP since 11/18
Zion Griffin, Tennessee State 14-11 (6-6 in OVC; 6th): 8.9 ppg 5.3 rpg 40.7% 3pt (24/59)
Jaden Walker, East Carolina 12-12 (3-8 in American; 9th): 5.2 ppg 4.3 rpg
Xavier Foster, SMU 8-16 (3-8 in American; 10th): has appeared in 10 games and has tallied 4 points and 4 rebounds total...

Texas (Hunter) and Bolton (Gonzaga) are shoe ins for the NCAA Tournament at this point; Hinson and Pitt are on the bubble right now; Dubar and Hofstra are having a nice low-major season, but that is a one-bid league and Charleston has been better than them, aside from losing their head to head match. Winning the CAA Tournament will be a must for Dubar and the Pride; everybody else on the list is gonna have to play bid stealer come conference tournament season.

Other notes:
- No idea how Nate Jenkins gets 25+ mpg while putting up those numbers. On the other hand, Green Bay might be one of the bottom 10 or even 5 programs in the sport.
- You gotta feel bad for guys like Javan Johnson and Tyler Harris. They've done a lot of bouncing around, and while they are each enjoying great individual seasons, they have never really gotten to play on a decent team.
- Terrence Lewis has to be injured. Couldn't find anything concrete, but his Twitter feed is filled with pretty emotional Tweets since late November, around the last time he played. Not sure he has any eligibility left after this season, but he would have to be pushing 25 if not 26 heading into next season. Sucks for the guy, as I was hoping he could go somewhere and crush it for a couple years after it never materialized here for him.
- Another seasons worth of evidence that guys like Griffin, Walker, and Foster were just flat out misses for Prohm as they continue to underwhelm at their next stops. This list doesn't even include guys that don't currently play Division 1 ball (Leech, Anderson, Blackwell etc)
Luke Anderson seems to be doing pretty well at D2 right now. Averages 14 and 5 at Florida Southern.

Marcadus Leech is actually dominating at his new stop too. 20 PPG, shooting 40% from 3 and 46% from the field at Davenport University. He might got a shot to transfer back to D1 with these numbers. Good god

Too bad he never showed that kind of aggressive basketball at Iowa State.
He wasn’t allowed too. He was taken out of the game at the 17 minute mark in the first half, every game, no matter what. He could have been playing the best ball on the court and it wouldn’t have mattered, he would be taken out at the 17 minute mark. Always baffled me why T.J. did this, and always baffled me why when Brockington was struggling and the team desperately needed offense, he wasn’t out there playing. I mean his defense wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad, but his offensive skill was arguably the best on the team outside Brockington.

Im rooting for that kid. He was a legit 5 star before the injury. I would love to see him get a chance to transfer back to a UNI or some mid major and contribute.

He was/is offensively skilled, but I think by the midway point of the season, his struggles were in his head too much and he had become essentially ineffective on both ends of the court. I believe TJ had a short leash with him initially due to missed assignments and not knowing where to be on defense. A fresh start was needed and too bad it just didn't work out here.
