I’m with @Jeremy on this one. Where is the storm for Des Moines area?? Give me insanity but this won’t even probably get us so just another in a long line of disappointments.

Gonna get something it looks like. It’s like every snow storm. You get little like 25 mile radius pockets of higher totals and everywhere else is a consistent but lower total.

I don’t know why people can’t equate snow storms to thunderstorms when it comes to localization of rain/snow/wind or whatever totals. No one gets all bent out of shape when WHO13 says 2-3” of rain and Jeremy in Waukee ends up with 1.71” and John in Ames gets 2.69”.

But when WHO13 says 6-8” of snow for the metro and someone only gets 4.5” **** in Adel just ******* about how wrong the forecast was while ignoring that Terry in Colfax got 8.7”.

These spring-style storms are especially fun because there’s such a sharp gradient in snow totals due to the line of freezing temps going right over the metro. So I totally get why someone might say… could be all rain or all snow. Depends on where you live.

The sheer fact that we’re able to say 2-3 days out … “guess what guys there’s a storm coming that could possible produce snow in this particular area, watch the **** out and stay weather-aware” is nothing short of amazing to me, personally.

The only thing I’ve noticed is it looks like computers are seeing a pocket of warmer air might push further north/expand to the DSM metro and keep the “wintry mix” conditions around a little longer than the previous tracks I’ve seen.

My wife is driving back from New York on Tuesday/Weds, I told her she should aim to be back here by early/mid-afternoon on Wednesday.

What? You give her a late model to road test for you or something? Puerto Rico is really where you need to road test them!!

Really glad that we won't be seeing extended high winds like the Xmas storm. We just had to keep digging barns out day after day for what seemed like a week as it kept drifting back in.

Yeah. 8" (worst case scenario here) of snow without strong winds and blistering cold isn't that bad to deal with.

I’m in light yellow. Rain just got rid of a bunch and now another 10”ish? Yuck.

LOL. No my stepdaughter is moving back here for a bit, so my wife flew out to help her pack and they are currently on the road driving back. Trying to be home around noon tomorrow. Currently stopped for food in Pennsylvania.

And I road test in my yard or up and down the gravel road.
