Outgoing transfer tracker

A lot went down hill too because Brock is a much better pass blocker and receiver than any of the other backs. Norton is a good runner but still has a ways to go in terms of blocking and receiving.

We also went from RB1 to relying heavily on RB3 & RB4 after Brock's injury. After seeing Norton finish the season (albeit not completely healthy), the drop-off after Brock/Norton was rather significant.

Brock and Norton, if healthy would take 75%+ of the 2023 carries. Not shocked about Silas. He'd do great in the Fun Belt.

Sanders seems like such an underutilized weapon.. Fast and good hands. Throwing to a RB out of the backfield can be such a weapon against all the deep zone coverages we see. Modern football is putting athletes in space and letting them make plays for you.
Could you possibly put this in an email and send it to CMC and his staff?

They don't seem to watch much football and take notes as to what other teams are doing to have success moving the ball AND scoring touchdowns.

A healthy Brock should be the starter until proven otherwise. A lot went downhill after he got dinged up. Norton has a lot of potential but Brock is an every down back.

Having both those guys back at 100% would make me feel confident about that position for 2023.

Isn't RB the position group on offense with the LEAST amount of concern for 2023? Getting the O-Line to perform at a level where you could believe they attend scheduled practices every week is job 1, 2, and 3.

Brock and Norton seem to be serviceable Big 12 RBs. Sanders just developing to be a 3rd string back would be nice because he's not there yet. But the overarching problem was the OL as far as the run game goes. It was pathetic. 2nd biggest issue was health.

Need to hit the portal for 1-2 WR's, 1-2 OL, *maybe* 1 RB to add depth, and a kicker (hopefully a grad transfer).

Agreed. Our congested formations yielded very little results. Then Rus had a hard time blocking in space when we did try to run outside. One example, early in the TCU game a defender ran right by him and cut down the ballcarrier for a loss on what looked like a promising play. We got spoiled the previous 5 years with Montgomery and Hall making something out of nothing frequently. This year we didn’t have that in our backfield.
I saw that play which was a complete lack of execution by Rus. We can't afford misplay like that.

IMO, equally or more important than adding more running backs is the need to upgrade the OL and get them to execute. The best running backs won't go anywhere until the OL execution is up to snuff.

Any OC’s in the portal?

Tulane's offense averaged 34 ppg this season. Jim Svoboda would be on a short list for me. This program was also terrible just a few years ago.

He is also from Denison Iowa. Intriguing.

My assumption is that coaches meeting with players is happening over the next two weeks, so this is going to start trickling out at an increasing rate as we go along this week and next.
Both Silas and Gray announced in the afternoon yesterday.

Why, is the question. Did he just suddenly forget how? Playing thru injuries? I remember a much more dynamic Jared Rus than what we got this year.
He didn’t have to block in space. More a lead back to blast a hole so it took no skill to block. Now he has to clean up holes and that is his weakness.

Our QB prayers are answered, Padilla has entered the transfer portal. Petrus must be comin back for his 6th year.:eggplant:
Where else would Petras go? He isn't going Pro and football don't have a G league or overseas leagues for him to go to. So it's either play football or fast food service.
