Silas could be a feature back at a Sun Belt type team. Just doesn’t have the size to be an every down guy in the P5.

He'd be their #3 RB at best... which is probably where he'd be at ISU too. Maybe it's not about playing time though?
I love Sama’s quick feet and acceleration. He may be a bit small but I wouldn’t be surprised if he carried the ball a lot next year. He seems to be a real talent.

This is correct. Although Scales had injury problems that probably hurt his career at Iowa State. That was a big recruiting get at the time
Silas probably is better off at a place like FAU. Showed some flashes - could be a good player at that level.

Initially we were but when our coaches saw how well he was performing with the ball in his hands and the lack of production from the RBs on our roster, they asked if he would be interested in coming in as a RB instead, to which he agreed
We’ll I didn’t play in college but evidence suggests lead blocking was pretty meh.
This kinda tells us what CMC has been doing. Guessing player meetings if we have guys jumping that played some.
Good luck to Silas. He’s a backup at the Big 12 level though. We need to find our next Montgomery or Hall. Worry about the difference makers while the backups move on.
The problem is we didn't just use him as a lead blocker. We tried to use him in the passing game with No success. And his lead blocking didn't really help much on all those short yardage situations we failed in.
Imo it would have been better to spread the field with another more athletic receiver rather than clogging the box.

Agreed. Our congested formations yielded very little results. Then Rus had a hard time blocking in space when we did try to run outside. One example, early in the TCU game a defender ran right by him and cut down the ballcarrier for a loss on what looked like a promising play. We got spoiled the previous 5 years with Montgomery and Hall making something out of nothing frequently. This year we didn’t have that in our backfield.
