Yea, I should have mentioned I was assuming they would sell it. I think the city has made it pretty clear they aren’t going to make changes to the zoning for them to build a new station there. K & G had it listed on commercial sites for sale last year.
I left that off because I feel like it’s not conducive to an “Entertainment district” atmosphere. Very cool underrated place in DSM though. Those giant bloody Mary’s are lifesavers on a hair of the dog day.
I doubt they are going to CyTown. Why would want to wait until 2024 or 2025 to open an Ames location if they are announcing it now?
Hopefully they don't get too big for their britches like so many of these kinds of play that expand.
Are there any bike paths that you through Ames. That's their big thing in Des Moines, being right next to the trail.

Mullets is pretty good. A lot of it is the location on the bike path, The older unique building, the River right there, Right by Sec Taylor (Principle Park). It has everything. It's a cool joint. Wondering if they will just open a generic type version in Ankeny. I can't see it being as cool as the original.
This stuff is always a risk. I'm young enough to remember Jethros being a really solid BBQ restaurant.
Anyone heard when the new Ankeny one opens? Last time I biked by it was done on the exterior but pretty bare on the inside still.
LOL that they put this on the HTT instead of forcing their round peg into the square District. Great move.
Agree. The Waterfront in Ankeny sucks compared to the original on University, I heard the Fong's there was bad too.
Never been there but checking out their website the vibe of this joint looks phenomenal and the menu looks awesome. The country fried steak skillet has my full attention.
At the wrestling CRTC event a couple weeks ago, one of Mullets servers said they are going into an existing location in Ames but wouldn’t say where. Found out from a buddy that it sounds like they are going in West Town Pub.
