Tyrese Hunter Entering the Transfer Portal - NIL Speculation

Yeah, their basketball tradition is pathetic. That state has almost 30 million people and they struggle to get 5,000 to show up.

Plus he should have a blast in the fall watching the football team lose to Kansas again.

I have a strong suspicion that the 'ha! Those losers lost to Kansas!' thing will come back around one of these days.

The Andrew Jones story is truly great.

Tyrese's has been to. He's living in his time and doing what kids in his time do.

People are treating this like when Lebron went to South Beach.

Yup, at the end of the day, every kid we brought in, came to ISU for essentially the same reason Tyrese went to Texas, it was a business decision about what was best for them long term. None of them love ISU the way we do, they shouldn't be expected to, they came here to benefit their basketball career.

It's hard to feel too bitter when we are going to likely roll out 5 starters who transferred from other schools. I hope our crowd gives him hell but beyond our games against him, I won't have any more ill will for him than I would every other Texas player (minus Andrew Jones, I'll root for him every day of the week).

So who is Andrew Jones and why do you cheer for him? Hometown kid?

Even though I am disappointed in Tyrese, I do hope that the coach treats him
decently and teaches him what he needs.

Kinda feels like someone dumped their girlfriend before Prom cause his buddy(handler) told him the hot rich girl wanted him. He listened but the hot rich girl laughed at him cause she got a better date. Then he tried going to choice B(KU) and choice C(Zags) and ended up taking the girl who said yes(TX).

Good luck, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

I don’t see how he and Carr fit together as they are both ball dominant pgs. Tyrese may wind up coming off the bench.

Is that really all that different than many of us? Don't most of us end up coming here as a business decision? You look at quality of the program of study, cost of attendance, scholarships, the feel of the school, the location, etc and if the total package looks like the best fit for your needs you come here. And you are looking at going to college because you expect the investment of cost and time will pay off in terms of better career options.

This isn't all that much different from the athletes. And yet many students end up with a love of ISU. I would argue we have many former athletes who also have a love and loyalty towards ISU the same as a typical fan.

Hunter isn't one of those people though, he is a sell out. He is welcome to do that. And those of us who are loyal to the school first are welcome to feel how we want about him based on that decision.

Sorry, but a strong disagree on this one. Brunson has way better handles, a variety of start and stop moves, all kinds of finishing ability, and can score from anywhere in the lane using ball fakes, head fakes, up and unders...ect. Offensively they are MILES apart... all in my opinion of course.
And Brunson is given a lot of time to make his moves. Don’t see his future horns down teammates taking a liking to anything like that.

I’ve been an ISU fan since I was a young kid, Tyrese probably hasn’t.

Had TJ been the lead recruiter then you might........MIGHT have a point.

You can't demand loyalty from someone who just witnessed the opposite when ISU canned the coach who he signed with.

You say........that was a business decision based on Prohm not doing his job and ISU can do better. I agree.

And the same could be said with Tyrese. He kept his word and helped TJ make history. But now he thinks he can do better for himself and made a business decision.

That hardly makes him a "sell out".
