ISU News and Tweets

I think that might be Paulie’s job and he screwed up not getting him that info. I find Rome super annoying but those are the details he usually gets right.

Well Rome just said something similar to DP right now. How hard is it to do some research.

Rooting for Providence to win if we get past Miami. Would rather play a team not familiar with our defense than one that has beaten us twice and knows our tendencies. Additionally, KU being a blue blood, I suspect the refs would give them all the calls (as usual).
I can understand your logic but beating KU to go to the final 4 would so awesome!

That’s just how it is when you make the tournament all of the time. If you haven’t had a big upset against you then you probably don’t make the tourney that often.
Agreed. Everyone has their "Hampton" or "UAB". Even the blue bloods.

Here are the winningest programs in tournament history and the teams they have lost to as a top 4 seed in 1st round:

Kentucky (131 wins) - St. Peter's (2022)
North Carolina (128) - Weber State (1999)
Duke (116) - Lehigh (2012), Mercer (2014)
UCLA (113) - Penn St (1991 - when Penn St was in the A-10), Princeton (1996)
Kansas (111) - Bucknell (2005), Bradley (2006)
Louisville (76) - Morehead St (2011)
Michigan State (70) - Weber State (1995), Middle Tennessee (2016)
Syracuse (70) - Richmond (1991), Vermont (2005),
Villanova (69) - Old Dominion (1995)
Indiana (67) - Cleveland State (1986), Richmond (1988), Kent St (2001)
Michigan (66) - Ohio (2012)
UConn (59) - San Diego (2008)
Arizona (58) - East Tennessee State (1992), Santa Clara (1993), Oklahoma (1999), Buffalo (2018)
Ohio State (58) - Oral Roberts (2021)
Florida (48) - NONE

That would be a final four this year…

If that happens I think we’re all going to need to be drug tested because we’d all be convinced we’re hallucinating.
Test free zone.

Because I'm sure every player and coach went into that Richmond game and thought "you know what, what we got is good enough. Time to go home now."

Good Lord, Husker fans aren't even this bad.
Well you just recanted what they did so maybe :)

Hunter is moving to legendary status very quickly.

Tyrese was +12.9 against LSU.

The rest of the team was -10.4 in net rating.

Kunc was +1.3, Enaruna was +1.2, and Conditt was +0.5. The rest of the team was negative.

Legendary performance to drag his team to victory like that.

Highest net rating for each NCAA tournament game of the Bart Torvik era...

2012 UConn = +4.1 (Royce White)
2012 Kentucky = +8.9 (Royce White)
2013 Notre Dame = +6.1 (Georges Niang)
2013 Ohio State = +4.7 (Tyrus McGee)
2014 NC Central = +5.6 (Georges Niang)
2014 UNC = +3.6 (Naz Mitrou-Long)
2014 UConn = +9.1 (Dustin Hogue)
2015 UAB = +4.9 (Jameel McKay)
2016 Iona = +7.6 (Monté Morris)
2016 UALR = +8.0 (Matt Thomas)
2016 Virginia = +2.8 (Georges Niang)
2017 Nevada = +3.5 (Donovan Jackson)
2017 Purdue = +6.7 (Matt Thomas)
2019 Ohio State = +5.2 (Marial Shayok)
2022 LSU = +12.9 (Tyrese Hunter)
2022 Wisconsin = +7.6 (Gabe Kalscheur)

So yeah, Tyrese had the best single-game performance against LSU of any Cyclone in the tournament since 2012.

That was my favorite part of the that video. I will give a ton of credit to Steve for linking back to the former players and it remaining embedded in the culture now.
I expect TJ will continue this given how many of the players from those great years have a connection with him.
