Wow, nice memory. I just looked it up, 67-65 over Mississippi Valley State Royce's year. Then we smoked #5 Kansas and ended up one of the best 32 teams in the country.
Well let me jog your memory some more, because Royce basically didn't play in that game because he was sick.

You said we controlled everybody and we didn't. You can conveniently just pretend like those games don't matter, but the warts have been there for everyone to see all season long. Many people going in to conference play were concerned about this very thing happening.

Ok, well, congrats on being right all along that this team sucks while the rest of us got our hopes up. I hope you ate proud of yourself.
I dont care whether Royce played or not, any team in the Big 12 should easily control a team ranked 276th.
Also that year we barley beat Cental Michigan(271), and Northern Colorado(254), which jsut further proves my point that teams don't get up for those games and can look bad.
As far as your last point, here's the average lead/deficit for the non-conf games. We thoroughly controlled those games, here's the proof.
Kennesaw State +6.9
Oregon State +7.6
Alabama State +4.7
Grambling State +14.1
Xavier +6.1
Memphis +6.3
APB +10.2
Creighton +1.1
Iowa +10.3
Jackson State +9.6
SEL +8.1
Chicago St +12.4
Missouri +4.5
I dont know how you get much more dominating than that. I rarely even remember us being behind the entire non-conf and these numbers prove it.

Baylor at -6.8 was the first time we were negative the entire year and that game was January 1st. I don't have time to look but I'd be willing to bet ISU is the only team in the country to have numbers like this through January 1st.

ISU's non-con SoS is now 329th in Kenpom. It was designed to give them some easy wins to build confidence.

Conclusions and expectations based on performance against the 329th ranked non-con SoS may have been a mistake. ISU hasn't regressed, they have just started playing a much tougher schedule. They aren't a "very good team that is free falling". They are a team with a substandard rotation of bigs at the P6 level and only one consistent scoring threat who isn't big on passing.

Yeah, these substandard guys were one missed goal tend call from beating supposed better competition in the Fog.

It’s well known you’re close with TJ. You either need to start asking the tough questions that your job requires or step away from basketball coverage. You had no problem telling us how wrong we were in December, but not a peep now
Your chirping from the parking lot make me laugh. Do you really think what you're asking for would be provided on the free board?

My 2 cents, They just look worn down with enough energy at times to make it a game, but they just don't have enough to last 40 minutes.

And adding to that, we're not getting alot out of our 6,7, 8, 9, rotation players.

So now we want Cdub to ask TJ confrontational dumbass questions? How is Randy P going to keep a job if CW steps into that space?

What are we collectively expecting to happen with "tougher questions?"

People on a free board that puts out tons of great free content for an athletic department last in funding in its conference by a landslide think they're being shorted? Comical. Which new coach has come in and done better than TJ? Tommy Lloyd is the only one off the top of my head and he ain't coming to buttfuck Iowa for $1.5m a year and he's at Arizona.

Take a step off the ledge and realize that TJ is in a position to get back to the tourney in year 2 if he has some roster retention and keeps winning recruiting battles in the upcoming transfer market. God knows the coach I wanted that went to Utah lost his roster and has sucked this year. Things are alright here, especially given when the firing of Prohm had to happen while also having to give our football coach everything he wants to keep our AD competitive. By all considerations this has been a home run year.

Well... Uh... I hope you all are having a great Sunday so far...

It's the dead of winter, it's felt like Antarctica here for 8 weeks, we are coming off a hugely disappointing football season, the basketball team gave us unexpected hope and has since crashed hard, NCAA tourney hopes are circling the toilet, and Cyclone Nation is grumpy AF. Other than that, just your standard Super Bowl Sunday!

Well, on the bright side, the pets' heads haven't started falling off yet.

I’m just gonna make one post in here.

For the record, I haven’t participated in a single media availability since TJ got the job. The only times I’ve asked him on thr tecodd questions was when I filled in for Walters in Brooklyn. JAred, Rob and now Connor handle that. My role is specifically commentary these days for the very reasons I have stated from day one. You don’t always have to like or appreciate what I have to say. It’s part of the deal. Always has been the case regardless of the ckach.

I have been way more up front about all of this stuff than I’d guess most people would be in my position. 100 percent honest. I have thick skin but man this thread is pretty hurtful, especially coming from certain posters. I just don’t know how I could have been more transparent with you all.

FWIW too on the reaction pods. When the year turned we went in a different direction with the sales of them. Honestly the numbers just haven’t been there for them and we do so many other pods that I just don’t feel the need to do them all the time like we used to. It is oftentimes very redundant, Especially when the team is losing. You guys just don’t listen to them I look at the numbers religiously.

Finally I honestly was really happy that my friend and my daughter’s friends were going to move back home. But this crap is exactly why I didn’t ever want him to get this job. The whole thing just sucks.

Openness and honesty. The exact thing a bunch of people have been screaming for in this thread…has actually been there from day one with you. Can’t make everyone listen to you. It’s really unfortunate.

And on my tweet about “Izzy” (I was tongue and cheek referring to Izzo, The intention was not to make a direct comparison in terms of coaching success or future success or anything like that I guess. More that for once Iowa State actually has a homegrown coach who wants to retire here and loves it like we do. I’m sorry but Fred was not that guy. I love him but he always wanted out. TJ - if he wins - will stay as long as we will have him and that’s special. Mostly what I meant. 280 characters not the best place for that conversation probably.
