Phil Knight coming in hot...
From what I heard, the Miami "coaching search" has been a cluster so far. Cristobal would be foolish to leave Oregon and Phil Knight money. Miami has multiple people (regents, former players, other staff) thinking they are making the final decision when none of them are.
Leaving ISU will NEVER be an act of desperation for Matt Campbell. Whether it's UVA, Indiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, etc, etc. He will take the job because it makes the most sense for his family and him professionally.
I would love Matt Campbell to be at ISU the next 3-5 year window. I just think it's equally possible he jumps to another fixer upper program instead of waiting on one of his preferred blue blood programs opening up again.
Why did Campbell turn down LSU, USC or UW? Only he knows. Was he anticipating ND or OSU opening in the next 2-3 years? We're they bad fits for the environment he wants to raise his family?
A school like UVA could make sense. Great college. College town +. Virginia produces a solid number of D1 football players. The ACC could be in flux. Clemson might be returning to it's historical norm. FSU and Miami are down. Mack Brown might have peaked UNC.
Plus Virginia plays ND every few years as part of it's ACC rotation.
Seems like Campbell is determined to move on. OU, USC, Va, Va tech, LSU, ND, TCU. I hope Pollard has a backup plan, cause it’s only a matter of time till CMC is gone. Honestly, I am beginning to lose admiration for him with the nonstop interviews.

Reports that Cyclonimus prime explores speculative ventures. Is now the time they move on?I work for a large/stable company and have no interest in actually leaving that company. I enjoy everyone I work with. I used to work in a highly needed position in a super volatile industry. I receive emails every other day asking If I am interested in returning to this chaotic industry and I will read them (though I won't contact them inevitably). It's fine to look. I see no issue here to know what you are worth.

You realize that if someone calls you with interest that doesn't necessarily mean you are out looking.
I get recruiters contacting me all the time even though I am not looking.
