Can we switch the poll to who we think should get ND? I vote Gundy (how has he not got mentioned this time around for a raise???)

You ask a good question. Why isn't Gundy ever mentioned for some of these jobs? He too could win at LSU. The guy wins a lot of games every year (and hopefully one more on Saturday!).

Probably because when you flirt with taking other jobs too many times only to leverage them into better deals to stay where you're at (hello, Kirk Ferentz) at some point the media stops floating your name.

You'd be absolutely insane to become the DC at LSU over being the HC at ND. That's just lunacy. It's going to be Freeman in South Bend and I'm not worried about this at all.

What if we just had a steady stream of former players hired at around 60-70k a year, we triple our staff, hire a CEO at 250k to manage the operation, systemtize recruiting and everything else. That was my hope is CMC walks in, takes a pay cut and gets his assistants more money if they want it and hire a bunch more staffers like Kyle K and Trevor Ryan.

So how does this work? Matt sits by his phone and if a better offer doesnt come in then he sets an appointment with Jamie?

I don't know, all good points. But I just have a feeling that Gundy is ACTUALLY loyal to his alma mater. Has he made plays in the past to perhaps get a bump in pay? Absolutely.

I seem to remember Gundy being in the mix for Tennessee a few years back, but I could be wrong.

Either way the guy doesn't seem to be on the hot list
