It's been amazing to watch that top tier of schools just pull away from the pack these last few months in terms of NIL deals, realignment, and coaching salaries. There may not be a "superleague" separate from the rest of us on the field - yet anyway - but there sure is in terms of spending.

Campbell's family loves Ames and his girls are very involved in the area swimming club. I'd be very surprised if he uproots that. He already has tons of money and will get more.
My daughter swam for a metro high school and graduated in 2019. At that time Ames High had won like 5 state championships in a row. Incredible program. Good reason for Campbell to stay. Seriously.

The national media seems to be assuming this might be Campbell’s time.

You know how news media is. If they get a story wrong they just keep ******* that chicken until they are right.

I follow.
Original comment was that Notre Dame gave him ultimatum needed to win a natty in next 3 years or was getting let go.
He isn't getting more than 3 at LSU at that price.
Maybe, but I haven’t checked, how much time did he have left on his contract with ND? Worst case, he’s out in 3 with $70 million dollars left to collect. Was he going to get that at ND without winning a championship? I am no fan of ND, but they do have a very tough path to get to the playoff. One loss to a mediocre team could kill that shot. In the SEC, you could lose to the worst team, still win the conference and you are a shoe in for the playoff.

I mean, CW said himself he thought there was something to the USC rumors. And Notre Dame is one of the dream jobs everyone ties Campbell to. So all the speculation seems pretty justified.

Really crazy considering ND not eliminated from playoff yet, I wonder if it could possibly affect committee, it would have to on some level.

His kids don't attend the Ames school district.
