*** OFFICIAL MATT CAMPBELL TO USC RUMOR THREAD ***

Franklin is a great personality fit for USC, but the only wrench is that he's a PA native and has spent a lot (not all) of his career in the eastern US.

So maybe he wants to stay as long as he's not feeling any heat? Never know though.

Why does everyone assume he wants to go back to Ohio? I'm from the Midwest and have no desire to live there. Making 5 million a year in LA would be just fine by me. I wouldn't want to live there as a normal person but NY and LA would be awesome if you could afford it.
Two million per year in Iowa, you're rich!
Five million per year in LA, well, that's a nice house you have there. To bad it's so far from the beach.

5 mil in Ames Iowa goes a hell of a lot farther than 5 mil in LA.

Living in Ames IA is a hell of a lot better for family especially considering he has his kids in one of the best schools in the state if not the country, vs LA.

Sure you can afford it, but you can also afford to do a lot more with your money in Ames Iowa and set yourself and family up for years to come, which is what he is doing by putting a huge chunk of his income away every year as reported. Hes not the type to want a big pay check so he can have a mansion in Beverly Hills, he wants to have a good family life and set himself and family up in the future, regardless of what happens with his career.

Sure the weather is Nice but there is not a lot else that is better in LA than Iowa. There is a reason Iowa ranks as one of the top places to live every year, and why people are leaving Cali in droves. Politics aside someone young and without a family might love southern Cali, but the things that I feel CMC values I dont see Southern Cali being a great fit. Cali has a lot of issues that I dont see CMC enjoying right now. And I dont see him trying to recruit there at all. Its not his style of people or players.

I didn't assume that he wants to go back. I was responding to someone who assumed that everyone would prefer Southern California over the Midwest.

I know you are joking around.. But I'm afraid that some won't get the joke and take it serious

If we are making any changes... Gordon needs to be the first one out the door. QB1's have only regressed since he took over. Manning called some great plays on Saturday. Brock just underthrew some WIDE OPEN wr's that were several yards in front of the defender.. See the video below. The ball NEEDS to come out at the 3 second mark when Hutch is exploding past the defender.

Wow watching that replay really shows how poorly that ball was thrown. Didn't realize how much of a step Hutch had on the defender.

Hankins got beat BAD by XH on that route. XH got held and still had more than a step after, if the ball is out sooner or down the field, that's a 90 yard TD. Really think the play call was Manning's best from Saturday, and realistically the kind of call I want to see more of. Play action passes, even when you can't run the ball, are still some of the most efficient play calls. Just need to hit the throw, though.

Brocks biggest downfalls are anticipation and throwing the deep ball. There was no safety over the top. With a good throw. That is a 91 yard TD.

If that goes for a TD. It's 10-0 Good Guys and Iowa only had 40 yards of offense. Game is likely over with how good our D was playing. Kudos to Iowa for knowing that our QB wasn't going to make plays.

If I'm playing defense against Iowa State.. I play my safeties way up until Brock proves he can throw it farther than 25 or so yards and with timing

Well so many on here said Fred wouldn’t leave for the bulls…money talks. I hope not.
Who said Fred wouldnt leave for the Bulls? I am pretty sure everyone knew that was his goal all along, to be in the NBA coaching.
Anyone that said that was dreaming or very very uninformed. I never heard anyone that knew anything say that, honestly from day one I heard he would leave sooner or later for the NBA.

Additionally, his contract made it clear that he had intentions for leaving for the NBA. His buyout if he left for an NBA team was really low.

Anyone that would rather be in Ames than living in Beverly Hills needs their ******* head examined. More people are leaving Iowa than California by a longshot. Look at population numbers.

Guess I need my head examined I have no desire to live in that **** show. And I think there are many like me. Beverly Hills aside, So cal is not all Beverly hills. I dont like winter, anymore, so I would like to move out of Iowa for that reason, but I would NEVER move to SoCal, EVER. I have values that are not in line with anything SoCal. And my dollar goes twice as far almost anywhere in the country as it does in Cali, Period.

Also California's growth rate is almost zero at less than .05% less than 21,000 people increase from 2019-2020.
Iowas growth rate is over .20% growing over 100,000 people in the same time.

In states that have populations of over 40million vs 3 million the birth rate alone should mean Cali grows by more people. It is obvious more people are leaving Cali than Iowa and more people are staying or moving to Iowa.

The huge population that grew from a century ago doesnt mean it is desirable today.
