If I am a coach at a Power 5 and USC calls me after firing a coach 2 games into the season and asks me if I'm interested I simply laugh until they hang up the phone or I give them a run down of how they've handled their last so many coaches and then laugh until they hang up.

And I record it so when they deny they offered me the job I can further make them look stupid.

I'd bet you wouldn't have to search very hard to find some Ohio State fans calling for his job after the Oregon lost.
Those "fans" are out there, everywhere. But, I'd put the mainstream OSU fan's loss limit at +/- 3 losses per year (including a bowl game). Heck, even Nebraska will let a coach stay averaging 7 losses per year.

I would say you guys are going down the wrong path here. The concern of tOSU with Day isn’t Day becoming some 2-3 loss guy. It’s that he will jump to the pros. That is why the vacancy would come up.

Every time one of these vague insider reports comes out, we as a fan base ought to start a twitter explosion about the sourcing person.

Say it's some ESPN dooosh tweeting it. We all tweet #doooshToFox - stating that a random insider heard a rumor that dooosh is being wooed by Fox.

Or someone from the Athletic is going to SI.

Etc.

Only way it doesn't work is if it's Randy Pete. Everyone knows he's got no other options.

This was his 7th year?

Any worthy coach isn’t bothered by it. People that achieve such success don’t care about that

Lol, it's funny reading this knowing that the reason Nebraska accepts 7 losses a year is because there was a time they wouldn't accept 9 wins a year.

Both Southern Cal and Nebraska have ravenous ....WIN HUNGRY....Fanbases, who continue to dump coach after coach.....Both will eventually Luck Out and find a coach who can win a conference title for them but not much more!!
There is enough of a h.s. talent pool in California to win National Championships at SC.

Now. Solich went 7-7 and they lost their minds. They renamed highballs Solichs' cause it was so unacceptable! (But tasty) Bo got canned for winning 9. A certain segment of the fans recognize all this and admit the works is shot and they should hope for ISU like success at this point. They are quieter though.
