Kolar Status

Was it probably going to anyway. The only way we’d go away from three tight ends is if we didn’t have the personnel to, which would mean he’s not very good anyway.
Is it the only way or could they go away from it if the 3rd best WR was better than the 3rd best TE? I always heard that all of the innovative personnel decisions (e.g. former QB to Mike linebacker, 3-3 stack defense, etc.) were about getting the best 11 on the field on both sides of the ball.

Just like we’re known for the defense we run, we’re known for three tight ends as well. I’m sure they’d go away from it, but I feel like the talent gap between the third best receiver and third best tight end would have to be a really wide gap to make that change.

Yeah, it seemed like we ran way more 3 TE sets last year, and our shortage of WR's was probably part of it. I think we'll still see it a lot, because we can be deadly out of it, but I'm guessing we'll see it less than last year (for the reason you mentioned).

I agree. If Milton's healthy and/or Noel's as good as advertised, it's going to be pretty tough to keep one of them off of the field which would be playing 2 TE's. If Scates, Shaw, or Wilson are improved, we may end up seeing a lot of one TE sets.

Doubt it's true. If it is and he's able to walk in the boot it's not a serious injury and we are loaded so I'm not too worried about it.

right, if its true i honestly wouldn't be worried in the slightest. Dean gets the reps. Kolar gets another week to get healthy.

we also have Allen whose no slouch.

That might be my favorite Office episode.
